Das Buch enthält drei Novellen, die über mehrere Jahre um denselben Charakter herum entstanden sind. Es gibt kleine Verweise auf die Handlungen der anderen Geschichten, aber alles in allem bleibt der wirkliche Fixpunkt, der alles zusammenhält, der Protagonist Stephen Leeds. Zum Inhalt: Stephen Leeds ist kein gewöhnlicher Mann. Er kann bestimme Wissensfelder oder Talente, die er sich angeeignet hat "auslagern". Diese werden in Form von Personen realisiert, die ihr ganz eigenes Aussehen und Wesen besitzen, die jedoch nur Stephen sehen kann. Für viele gilt er damit auf psychologischer Ebene als Krank, doch keine Definition der bekannten Krankheiten passt so richtig auf seinen Fall. Die Aspekte, wie Leeds sie bezeichnet, können nicht die Kontrolle über ihn nehmen, viel mehr fungieren sie als Berater für ihn, die er auch nur dann kontaktieren kann, wenn sie mit ihm unterwegs sind. Denn im Alltag besitzt der Protagonist ein großes Anwesen, in dem jeder der Aspekte ein eigenes Zimmer besitzt. Kommt es dazu, dass Leeds zum Beispiel von Privatleuten hinsichtlich seines Wissens und Talente kontaktiert wird und für seine ganz speziellen Ermittlungen das Anwesen verlassen muss, kann er eine kleine Gruppe der Aspekte mit sich nehmen und behandelt sie dabei wie Personen; es muss also auch immer genügend Platz in einem Auto sein. Für die normalen Menschen erscheint das und die Tatsache, dass er mit der Luft spricht mehr als absonderlich, doch seine Erfolgsquote spricht für sich. In den drei Novellen erlebt Leeds gemeinsam mit seinen Aspekten jeweils drei ganz eigene und besondere Abenteuer, die es in sich haben. Nicht nur der Protagonist, sondern auch seine Aspekte sind dabei immer für eine Überraschung gut. Gerade auch unter den Aspekten befinden sich einige sehr coole Charaktere, die die Seiten nur so dahinfliegen lassen. Meine Meinung: Das Warten auf eine gesammelte Ausgabe aller drei Novellen hat sich in meinen Augen wirklich gelohnt. Natürlich merkt man eine Veränderung des Schreibstils über die verschiedenen Geschichten hinweg; immer hin sind von der ersten bis zur dritten mehrere Jahre vergangen. Die Geschichte hat mir jedoch wirklich sehr viel Spaß gemacht zu lesen. Das Englisch ist sehr gut verständlich und die Story damit gut zu verfolgen. In der dritten Geschichte wird es hier und da etwas verwirrend, doch das hat seine Berechtigung. Einem richtigen Genre kann ich das Buch nicht zuordnen; wer es liest kann denke ich mein Problem nachvollziehen. Absolut lesenswert; die erste Seite des Buches, hatte mich schon für sich gewonnen!
Interesting near future detective novellas that focus mostly on the psychology of the protagonist. Stephen's state of mind and the personalities of his hallucinations are the most fascinating part of this series. They are so much fun to be around but don't make it an entirely lighthearted story. While I think the premises for the cases are great, they aren't the most well crafted part of the story. There wasn't enough time to collect many clues and the second story focused too much on the action elements. The first book was a 4 star for me: Great set-up of the situation, most time is spent on Stephen and his aspects and the case was fun. It was a bit short, but I can be fine with novellas (especially first in a series) to leave room for more. The second one (3 stars) was the weakest in my opinion. The case just wasn't doing what I want from a detective story as much as it just wanted to be thrilling. Everything around it was still a lot of fun. The last one really hit hard, though. (5 stars) It focused the most on Stephen's mental state, had very emotional moments and was basically the perfect conclusion to everything that came before.
Mmm.. Non so che voto dare a questo libro.. Comunque siamo sulle tre stelle e mezzo. Bellissima l'idea di partenza, come del resto tutte le idee di Sanderson, ma c'è qualcosa che non mi ha convinto ma che, ahimè, non riesco a spiegare, forse la risoluzione del caso un po' troppo affrettata e forse il fatto che non ci sia un ulteriore approfondimento dei suoi aspetti e di come funzionano, anche se questo non è chiaro nemmeno a Stephen Leeds u.u Mi ha affascinato molto l'epilogo che ha risollevato la mia relazione con Legion, anche se, dopo più volte che viene accennata, vorrei tanto fare la conoscenza di questa famosa Sandra :) Nonostante tutto, rimane sempre un libro che vale la pena leggere, anche per cambiare un po' atmosfera :)
He disfrutado bastante de esta recopilación de novelas cortas sobre Legión. Quizá al haber leído hace mucho tiempo la primera historia tenía el recuerdo de que fue mucho más alucinante, pero me han gustado bastante. La tercera historia creo que ha sido mi favorita, pero si os gustó la primera historia estoy segura que os gustará el resto para conocer más a Stephen y sus aspectos.
