Ich habe dieses Buch geliebt. Das World Building war Mega und ein love Triangel mit jeweils einem Mann aus jeder Gesellschaftsgruppe?! It’s a YES for me. Es war mega spannend und lies sich sehr gut lesem. Sobald ich in der Stroy drin war, konnte ich es in einem Rutsch durchlesen. Ich mochte die Protas sowie die side characters unfassbar gerne, da sie alle einen eigenen starken Charakter verkörpern. Außerdem gab es während der Story und am Ende heftig plottwists, die für einige Aha-Momente gesorgt haben. Zusem ist die Protagoniston frech, schlagfertig und mutig. Ich liebs! Auf jeden Fall eine Leseempfehlung! 🥀
I'm not sure I understood the book enough to write a coherent review. It's not that I couldn't follow, or that it was too complex - but I didn't understand what the story was trying to be. The first half is pure YA, definitely for the younger audience. Alissa is a girl with forbidden magic, having to survive at court without being detected. There are up to three love interests, which is definitely too much and takes away focus from her character arc. We got wielding of stuff (including tendrils - let's not think about that too much) and court politics as well as the mysterious, handsome man she is too interested in. So far so good. But then at about 60% the tone shifts completely, getting darker and grittier. And while I could get behind this new aspect, it just doesn't make for a coherent whole. I'll leave it at that, and let you form your own opinion. Maybe the problem was me, I can't tell.
