Description

Langsamer Start nach dem spannenden Ende vom vorherigen Band - aber trotzdem insgesamt sehr gut. Die auftretenden Struggle fand ich sehr realistisch und ich bin insgesamt einfach ein großer Fan der Reihe. Mochte hier besonders die Beziehung zwischen Paige & Nick & Eliza und bin gespannt, was der nächste Teil bringt!
This was such an amazing sequel! After I found "The Mime Order" to be a tad dragging from time to time, this was exactly the fast-paced, thrilling, high-stake novel that I needed. I loved how the characters and their relationships developed, I finally got to like Paige a bit more in this book and especially, I LOVED where the plot was going. It's amazing how each book in this series is somehow so different from the others and how the world expands so much more in each novel. I can't wait for book 4!
3,5* Die ersten beiden Teile von "The Bone Season" habe ich damals ziemlich schnell nacheinander gelesen und dann hiess es leider erst mal warten, um diese Wartezeit nicht noch länger zu machen habe ich anschliessend entschieden die Reihe auf Englisch weiter zu lesen und nicht auf die deutsche Übersetzung zu warten (ich weiss gar nicht ob die Reihe überhaupt weiter übersetzt wird). Leider hatte ich anfangs jedoch etwas Probleme, weil ich die vielen Begriffe auf Englisch nicht kannte und das ganze Magiesystem dieser Welt doch ziemlich kompliziert ist. Leider konnte mich die Geschichte in der ersten Hälfte auch nicht wirklich fesseln. Damit meine ich nicht, dass mir die Geschichte nicht gefallen hat, doch irgendwie passierte mir einfach anfangs ein bisschen zu wenig, auch wenn es interessant war zu sehen, wie Paige mit ihrer neuen Rolle klar kommt. Ausserdem mochte ich auch die Nebenfiguren sehr, besonders Nick und Eliza sind mir inzwischen auch echt ans Herz gewachsen. Richtig spannend wurde es erst als Paige und ein paar ihrer Verbündeten London verlassen. Mir hat es sehr gefallen ein paar neue Orte in Scion kennen zu lernen und besonders die Teile in Edinburgh haben mir super gefallen, was vielleicht auch daran lag, dass ich selbst dieses Jahr das erste Mal dort war und ich die Stadt total mochte. Am Ende wurde die Geschichte dann auch wieder richtig spannend und das Ende ist wirklich sehr vielversprechend. Paige ist an einem sehr interessanten Punkt angelangt und ich bin wirklich gespannt wie ihre Geschichte im nächsten Teil weiter geht. Ausserdem freue ich mich auch schon sehr darauf im nächsten Teil wohl noch mehr über die Welt von Scion zu erfahren, welche schon in diesem Teil nochmal einiges komplexer wurde.
Even though The Song Rising is the shortest of the books, it feels like it contains the same amount of action as the rest of the series. Paige's task in this book is disabling a new technology, the Senshield-scanner, implemented by Scion to effectively root out the clairvoyant underworld. Her opponent is strategic genius Vance who tracks Paige across the country in her search for information about this technology. This means more than one setting and a bunch of new characters. Sadly, not all of them had the opportunity to be as fleshed out as I would have wished. Nevertheless, it is great to see other Scion citadels and follow Paige's revolution. Sometimes, however, I doubted her decisions. It wasn't really bad, because Paige does make sense to herself, and one of her greatest character development struggles is about the question how far she would go to save herself and others. I really liked that view on her character and am so excited about reading the next part of her journey in the fourth installment! I can't wait wait to see how this series is going, how Paige will uncover more secrets and continue with the revolution.
