Beartown

Das ist definitiv eines der besten Bücher, die ich gelesen habe. Fredrik Backman kreiert eine kleine Stadt, die den Sport glorifiziert, diesem alles unterordnet und vieles damit entschuldigt. Ein Abbild gesellschaftlicher Strukturen - Benachteiligung, Ungerechtigkeit und Unterdrückung. Obwohl es viele Charaktere gibt, schafft er es, alle perfekt zu zeichnen und spürbar werden zu lassen. Mir war oft so, als wäre ich Teil dieser Stadt. Für mich macht ein gutes Buch aus, dass es Emotionen weckt und etwas mit mir macht. Und ich war oft so wütend, dass ich Figuren anschreien wollte, traurig, entsetzt, fassungslos. Aber es gibt auch sehr schöne Momente, wenn er Verbindungen beschreibt und Charaktere sich entwickeln und zeigen. Sehr viele wahre Worte ohne große Prosa oder Belehrung. So großartig auf den Punkt gebracht. Ich werde daraus einiges mitnehmen und definitiv noch ein anderes Buch von dem Autor lesen.

Mal was ganz anderes, aber so toll! Es geht um Eishockey, aber auch um so viel mehr und das mit einem ganz besonderen Schreibstil. Fast schon ein Must-Read für mich🤍

If I had only one word to describe this book, it would be: impactful. Fredrik Backman took a piece of my heart and placed it with these characters, with this town which I hate and love at the same time. This story took something of me, it deals with an incredibly heavy topic but executed to the brink of perfection. How the author shows how you can look at a situation in so many different ways is incredible and utterly believable. I disagreed with many views but I understand them too. My heart hurts for Maya (yes she has a name) and what this town did to her and my heart hurts for all the girls, women and men alike who are brave enough to speak out and are immediately shut down by the world. It hurts to know that what happened in this book happens in real life all the time, too many times. So I hope that everyone who reads this book learns from it. And I don't think this book is about sports specifically hockey but about the human nature and the nature of a community
