4,5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was quite a ride. At first, I wasn’t sure what genre this book was supposed to be, as it blends elements from several. There is suspense, romance, and drama. But the final third makes it clearer: this is a thriller. The story follows five people who have been matched by a company called Match Your DNA. Scientists have discovered a gene within our DNA that links each person to exactly one other human: their 'perfect' match. As these five people meet their matches, five very different stories unfold. Deception, love, death, heartbreak, and conspiracy all play a role. Each storyline has multiple “wow” or "please no" moments. I tried to decide which story I liked most, but they were all so different, and each had its own moments to shine. That said, Nick's story had me giggling the most, Christopher's fascinated me, Mandy's frustrated me, Ellie's shocked me, and Jade's saddened me. It’s hard to summarise, as each story contains elements of all these emotions. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
