Description

The Majestic Conclusion To The Dreamer Trilogy by #1 New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater. WHERE IT STARTS IS WHERE IT ENDS IS WHERE IT STARTS This is the story of the Lynch family. Niall and Mór escaped their homeland for a new start, and lost themselves in what they found. Declan has grown up as the responsible son, the responsible brother - only to find there is no way for him to keep his family safe. Ronan has always lived on the edge between dreams and waking ... but now that edge is gone, and he is falling. Matthew has been the happy child, the brightest beam. But rebellion beckons, because it all feels like an illusion now. This world was not made for such a family - a family with the power to make a world and break it. If they cannot save each other or themselves, we are all doomed. The war between dreams and reality intensifies... with Ronan at its center. - Perfect for fans of Stiefvater's The Raven Cycle, Shiver and the first two books in the trilogy Call Down The Hawk and Mister Impossible - Maggie Stiefvater's writing is addictive, magical and mysterious - A mesmerizing story of dreams and desires, death and destiny

Fight against the apocalypse

What a conclusion. Definitely the best book of the trilogy, but only because of the end. Before that, my critique is the same as before, so I won't repeat myself. The last around 70 pages were really good though. I even cried a little 🥹 I'd say everything came to a good end and made sense. The only question I had that wasn't answered (as far as I can remember) is what exactly the Lace is 🤔 But I guess it's not that important. Everything else was explained (though vague at times), and oh boy, the whole backstory about Greywaren... absolutely great! This was also the first book that made me care about Ronan and Adam's relationship 😅 I'm sorry, but before they barely interacted, and when they did, it was mostly negative. Here, they had some great moments (well, after one scene where I wanted to strangle Adam, but apparently he lied? There still should have been more talking). Adam just isn't a main character here, aka not really essential to the story. This is the story of the Lynch brothers. Speaking of which, Matthew became one of my favorites. I love his arc in this one (though there should have been more at the end) and was really angry at Declan for how he treated him. Jordan and Hennessey had a similar kind of relationship, and I was glad Matthew and Jordan stood up for themselves. Didn't like how this was concluded with a non-apology in the end, but oh well. I did also love Declans arc (about him and Jordan, and finding out more about his parents), and I know he loves Matthew, but I was still angry (as I said, where is the apology?). Also Bryde felt really "underused" (Ronan a bit as well, but it made sense for me). The end in general, I did like a lot. It was also nice seeing characters from The Raven Cycle again in the epilogue (though a bit weird since they didn't talk to them in the whole trilogy lol). So now this whole universe is finished, and although it wasn't a highlight for me, and I could never love it the way I wanted to, I am glad I read it. I love the worldbuilding, the dreaming, and Ronan became one of my favorite characters 🤍

Best book in The Dreamer Trilogy, but it wasn't the saving grace of it.

Oh how I feared this day, the day I finished with this series. I just love these characters so much and Maggie is just amazing.

I ... I can't believe ... that it's over ... it ... it can't be over. Oh God ... that was ... that was so beautiful and I still feel slightly numb. I miss Ronan and all the others already. Oh man...

I'll have to write a proper review for this book at some point, but right now I'm just so relieved. I've been so afraid I wouldn't like it, because pretty much every form of sequel and/or ending has let me down recently, and instead it's exactly what I needed. To follow them into one last adventure, to get answers and some closure, to, in a way, let go of my son Ronan Lynch the characters, but in the best way and one that will make me think of them fondly instead of just wanting to forget them altogether, if that makes any sense. Also, there are few things that instill as much fear in me as the simple word "epilogue" does, but this one didn't only work for me: For probably the first time it actually felt like an epilogue sort of completed a whole series, but without spelling every detail out and restricting your own vision of what the future might hold for the characters too much.
