INTRODUCED BY STEPHEN KING

''There aren''t any grown-ups anywhere.''

A plane crashes on a desert island. The only survivors are a group of schoolboys. By day, they explore the dazzling beaches, gorging fruit, seeking shelter, and ripping off their uniforms to swim in the lagoon. At night, in the darkness of the jungle, they are haunted by nightmares of a primitive beast. Orphaned by society, they must forge their own; but it isn''t long before their innocent games devolve into something far more dangerous . . .

''Thrills me with all the power a fiction can have ... Exemplary.'' Ian McEwan

    Graphic Novel

The idea of having a lonely island all to yourselve gone wrong. A plane crashes and only children survive and are left without guidance of the adults. In order to survive and wait for help they have to organize themselves. So they pick a leader: Ralph. Though some members of the group, Jack, are not satisfied with this choice and long for leadership, too. I found that "Lord of the flies" was a fascinating journey into the human mind and how isolation, despair and hunger influence it. The characters are often angry and aggressive and get even more violent with each chapter. I think it's an extraordinary piece of literature. Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!
