Margate Attwood as always writes beautifully and intelligent. However I got extremely frustrated with all her Heroines by page 400 and felt the pay off was not worth the trouble. Maybe if I keep thinking on it my opinion will improve. It's impressive, it's frustrating, it made me feel a lot of things but I just don't know if I would recommend this book if I had to choose one of her works.

I read this a long time ago and didn't like it. I think I abandoned it rather quickly but I can't remember why. One of these days I will give it another try since I can only imagine that I was too young to understand or appreciate it then.
