Ich muss gestehen: ich bin vermutlich eine der wenigen, die mit der Romance und dem Ende nichts anfangen können - war nie Fan, find ich nicht nachvollziehbar und wirkt vollkommen hölzern. Da gabs schönere und sympathischere Alternativen 😅 Aber da das für das Buch keine große Rolle einnimmt, ist es mir letztendlich egal. Ich war tatsächlich eher erstaunt, wie viele Tode von tollen Charakteren ich vergessen habe, deshalb kam einiges doch überraschend und ich bin sehr froh, die Reihe jetzt in einem Stück durchgezogen zu haben. War eine schöne Reise in meine Jugendzeit !
Dieses Buch besteht aus Hochs und Tiefs der Gefühle. Der letzte Teil ist voll mit geballter Spannung, Überraschungen und Tiefe. Man will das Buch geradezu verschlingen, es ist so spannend. Diese Welt ist einfach eine Klasse für sich. Ich liebe sie wirklich sehr. Die Charaktere kann man auch nur lieben und in sein Herz schließen. Der große Showdown wurde wirklich gut umgesetzt. Mein Herz ist zwar gebrochen, aber das ist okay, es war leider unvermeidbar. Zwischen den Zeilen sind wieder viele Botschaften was Rassismus, Kastensysteme, Minderheiten, Homophobie und Ausgrenzung angeht zu lesen. Ich mag es, dass die Autorin auch in dieser Welt auf den Menschen eingeht und ihn als nicht perfekt beschreibt. Eine Szene mit einem dieser Themen, wird mir lange im Gedächtnis bleiben.
I loved this book besides the last 30 pages. That kinda ruined it. For the germans and german speakers, there is a book worthy fanfiction that does a better job then, unfortunately, the real book. Look for Lady Sonea on fanfiktion.de. The Story is called " Die Bürde der schwarzen Magier I - Der Spion". It is a better sequel then the actual one. (In my humble opinion)

I wish you could give a half start on Goodreads, as I don't feel this book is perfect. My main criticism is on the romance side, there were a number of these in this book, and a felt while it wasn't quite instalove, it was close by. But apart from that this book was definitely the best in the trilogy. I'll be interested to read the sequel trilogy to see if it further improves
