YEAR I MET YOU_PB

Did things happen quickly here? No! Some might say nothing happens ... but that's not true in my eyes. Yes, the plot is slow...but that perfectly fits the overall message of the book. Sometimes you can only see the path before you, that small patch of trampled grass in the wood, if you slow down your pace ... that seems even more true and insightfull at this time really... "It makes me think of anone who is trying to grwo where something, even a part of themselves, has died. We all experience that sickness. It is better to move, uproot ourselves and start afresh; then we will flourish."

Die Protagonistin muss sich gezwungener Maßen in einem Jahr Freistellung vom Job auf eine Reise „zu sich selbst“ begeben. Joar, hätte cool sein können aber irgendwie war mir das alles zu langatmig, zu wenig, zu einseitig. Ich fand leider die beiden Hauptpersonen auch nicht sonderlich sympathisch. Das ganze Buch über nicht. Die Randfiguren waren ganz nett. Der Einblick in das Leben eines Menschen mit Down Syndrom war interessant aber ja leider auch nur aus der Sicht der Protagonistin. Generell war das komplette Buch nur aus ihrer Sicht geschrieben, was ok war aber hier und da ein Perspektivwechsel wäre interessant gewesen, auch wenn für mich deutlich ist, dass es als Stilmittel sinnvoll ist. Naja für lau war’s schon ok, hätte ich Geld dafür ausgegeben, wäre ich weniger fein damit gewesen.
