— Das Buch erfindet das Rad nicht neu, aber es setzt bereits bekanntes gelungen um. Die Story catched einen von Kapitel Eins an und kann dank des flotten Tempos die Spannung durchweg aufrecht halten. ⠀ — Trotzdem mangelt es nicht an interessanten Charakteren, ganz im Gegenteil. Alle drei Protas sind komplett unterschiedlich, haben Tiefe und Persönlichkeit. Hier wurden wirklich gute Frauenfiguren geschaffen. ⠀ — Es gibt queere Charaktere, eine kräftige Dosis Feminismus, alles in einem atmosphärischen Setting und authentischem Verhalten. Außerdem ist es stellenweise humorvoll geschrieben und bietet einen coolen Twist am Ende. Alles in allem hat es super Spaß gemacht es zu lesen, ich hab nichts zu meckern, daher volle Punktzahl! Ich hoffe sehr das Buch wird ins deutsche übersetzt. 𝐁𝐄𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐆: 5 / 5 ✨️
Was für Geschichte! Dieses Buch ist sowohl eine Sozialkritik als auch ein Liebesbrief an Frauen. Es ist politisch, aber ohne erhobenen Zeigefinger und es ist brutal ohne dabei Grenzen zu überschreiten. Die Charaktere sind unglaublich liebenswert und individuell und ich würde sogar soweit gehen, dass die drei Hauptfiguren definitiv in meine Top 5 kommen. Ein Monatshighlight direkt am Anfang des neuen Jahres! So kann es weitergehen.
Ein richtig gutes YA-Horror Buch mit tollen Charakteren, einem mega interessanten Magiesystem und einer echt spannenden Story. Wir begleiten hier die drei sehr unterschiedlichen Mädchen Emer, Jude und Zara die sich zusammen schließen um einen Serienkiller zu fassen der Jagd auf Hexen macht. Alle drei haben unterschiedliche Motive und alle haben einen anderen Zugang zur okkulten Welt. Es war total schön zu sehen wie aus zu Beginn Fremden schließlich Freunde wurden und wie gut die drei zusammengearbeitet und sich füreinander eingesetzt haben. Das Buch war an einigen Stellen sehr grafisch, wer nicht gerne über Blut, Wunden, Eiter etc liest sollte also lieber die Finger von dem Buch lassen. Einige Stellen waren wirklich eklig. Mir hat die queere Representation und die feministische Haltung in dem Buch sehr gefallen und obwohl es teilweise sehr brutal und grausam war musste ich an der ein oder anderen Stelle sogar lachen. Alles in allem ein tolles Buch, mit seinem Hexen-und Dämonenthema auch perfekt für die Halloweenzeit.
Found this on Amazon prime and without knowing anything about it dived right into it. female rage, witchcraft, necromancy with queer FMC? count me in! the only thing that really annoyed me is that the ebook had SO MANY spelling errors. even recurring ones (3x oftened instead of offended) I really hope that's just an issue for the ebook, otherwise they should really get a new proofreader because this was a lot.
well, that was anticlimactic i read House of Hollow in one sitting months ago and thought i had to read this book, just because it should have similar vibes and is from the same author. let me tell you: the vibes were there but not as good as House of Hollow the whole plot moves extremely slowly and i feel like 3 main characters were too much for the story. the prose is interesting enough. women who sell part of their soul to demons for power. but! calling those women "feminazis" just because they sell their soul to demons for said power - that men can't achieve - is a big no-no. i know that was supposed to be in character but it made me want to quit the book in an instant. i kinda liked the plot twist with who the killer is and the whole wolf-family-situation but i felt like many points were brought into the story just to lengthen it.

Der Anfang war recht spannend und ich habe mit Spannung verfolgt, wie die einzelnen Mädels zueinander finden um denselben Weg zu gehen. Besonders Judes Charakter hatte es mir sehr angetan. Ihr Humor war genial😂 Aber irgendwie war es dann auch nicht spannend genug, dass ich viel darin lesen wollte. Wir haben das Buch im Buddyread gelesen, waren aber selten gleich auf und irgendwie kam bei mir nie dieses „ich will ständig darin lesen“ auf. Aber ich muss gestehen, sehr lange habe ich im Dunkeln getappt und hatte absolut keine Vorahnung, wer der Mörder sein soll. Die Auflösung fand ich zwar dann gut, aber sie hat mich nicht umgehauen. Was mir aber an dem Buch sehr gefallen hat, waren die Stärke der drei Mädels und wie sie zusammengearbeitet haben & auch Freundschaften entstanden sind❤️ alles in allem ein gutes Buch, aber keines, welches mir lange im Kopf bleiben wird🙈
