Spook Street” ist der vierte Band in Mick Herrons Jackson-Lamb-Serie über die “Slow Horses”, eine Gruppe von in Ungnade gefallenen MI5-Agenten. Die Handlung entwickelt sich zügig und die Spannung bleibt auf hohem Niveau. Vor allem darf Jackson Lamb wieder ausgiebig seinem bitterbösen Sarkasmus frönen. Ich liebe es. Unbedingt Leseempfehlung!
Wirklich lange hat mich der Roman über die Motive und Geschicht im Dunklen gelassen. Ungefähr in der Mitte gab es einen der genialsten Plot Twists, der vergangenen Jahre. Unfassbar, denn ich war mir sicher, das es aus dieser Situation keine für mich angemessene Lösung gab. Spannend und schnell erzählt, ein Spionagemeisterwerk.
