Sehr coole Mystery Novel, für einen Thriller aber noch zu wenig Spannung, dennoch sehr unterhaltsam!
Liars beach war für mich ein perfekter summer-mystery read! Das setting aud Martha vineyard war perfekt für meinen Urlaubs read und ich habe die Protagonisten gerne durch ihren Sommer begleitet. Lindens struggle damit, sich in die Gesellschaft der Reichen einzugliedern konnte ich teilweise nachvollziehen, und ich fand auch die Unterschiede sehr interessant. Es war spannend, mal auf diese Art in die Welt der Privilegierten einzutauchen. Ich habe mitgerätselt, jedoch stand für mich die Lösung des "Falls" nicht so sehr im Vordergrund. Auch die Auflösung war für mich recht unspektakulär- hier hätte ich irgendwie mehr Drama erwartet. Trotzdem hatte das Buch durchgehend eine starke sogwirkung auf mich und ich kann (nach dem Cliffhanger) den 2. Band kaum erwarten! Habe ihn direkt vorbestellt 🙈 Mir hat das Buch viel Spaß gemacht! Ich würde es jedoch nicht als Thriller bezeichnen, ich denke richtigen Thriller Fans wäre das zu lasch. Daher eher die Bezeichnung mystery novel! Also eine Empfehlung für alle, die seichte Mystery oder etwas in Richtung detektivromane mögen 😊

i don’t even know how to start. it was just so nice to read it in lindens pov. he was so relatable with literally everything and that was what made to book so enjoyable to me. i liked his little romance with eliza so much that i sometimes forgot that this book wasn’t even about that. the ending was kinda predictable some pages before it actually got confirmed but it still kinda shocked me if you know what i mean.
Ich hab für das Buch immer überwiegend schlechte Bewertungen gesehen und hab mich gefragt warum? Jetzt wo ich es selbst gelesen habe frage ich mich immer noch warum? 😅 Sicherlich kein literarisches Meisterwerk aber ich hab mich bis zum Schluss gut unterhalten gefühlt. Es hat mich an diese typischen Teenie-Thriller Filme erinnert, für die ich zugegebenermaßen eine kleine Schwäche habe. Ich fand gut, dass Linden recht normal rüberkam. Normal in dem Sinne, dass er ein typischer Teenager ist, dem sein Image noch wichtig ist, der dumme Sachen sagt und nicht immer rational denkt und handelt. Er war zwar nicht immer der sympathischste aber ich fand ihn als Charakter persönlich recht realistisch. Alles in einem ein unterhaltsamer Vacation YA-Thriller.

I‘m kind of disappointed with this book. At fiest I was thrilled that it was a male perspective for once. You don’t read books often that are written only in a mans pov. But thats the only good thing I have to say 👀 It was boring to read and not that special. Sure I didn’t figured out who was the murderer but I was constantly wondering whether I should finish reading the book or not.
