Zweiter großartiger Band der Slow Horses Reihe
Die Verlierertruppe um Jackson Lamb mit ihrem zweiten "Fall"... Anfangs sehr langsam startend sind die Bücher der Slow Horses (zugegeben ich bin erst beim zweiten Band) zu einer willkommenen Abwechslung in meinem Lesestapel geworden. Sonst sind Spionagethriller nicht so sehr mein Fall, zu verwirrend, zu politisch, zu männlich... aber diese Gruppe von Außenseitern ist mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen. Wieder ist die Geschichte spannend und überraschend bis zum Ende und ich freue mich auf den dritten Band.
Wie auch beim Vorgänger dauert es etwas eh man drin ist - aber dann!
Ich habe die Serie auf Apple TV zuerst geschaut und war echt begeistert. Die Charakter sind gut getroffen, aber die Story weicht doch um einiges ab. Ich frage mich warum. Die Story im Buch ist ebenso spannend und schlüssig. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Und wer die Protagonisten in den anderen Büchern mag, wird nicht enttäuscht. Jeder bleibt weiterhin der gleiche Arsch wie immer - bis auf Catherine. Sie ist einfach zu gut für diese Truppe. Allerdings wissen sie das alle und setzten alles daran sie nach ihrer Entführung zu retten.

With typical British dark humor, Mick Herron not only knows to keep his audience engaged, he also skillfully plays with just about every spy stereotype there is. His absolute losers, lead by the flatulence-prone Jackson Lamb, maneuver themselves through one shit-show after another, and it’s absolutely glorious to read. Definitely a must-read!
