    Ein so krasses Buch!!!

Wow! Was soll ich sagen!

"And it begins, as so many stories do, with a dead girl." This book hit me hard and made my cry. TW: Pedophilia, sexual abuse, drug abuse. If you can handle the heavy topics I really recommend this book. I stayed up until 5am to finish it, then went and immediately checked another book by this author out in my library that's how much this book hooked me. I felt so deeply for Sadie as she goes in search of the man who murdered her sister Mattie, who was her whole world. Sadie was like a mother to Mattie when their own mother disappeared. Their relationship is so complicated, yet so very special. Sadie goes on a trip to hunt down clues, fighting against her severe stutter along the way, all to find the murderer. And West McCray’s investigation leads him along her trail. A before and after racing each other towards the bitter end. The narrative split between West McCray as a radio presenter investigating Sadie’s disappearance and Sadie herself. The juxtaposition of McCray’s detached radio voice with the passion and determination in Sadie’s account works really well. "Please save her " was constantly running through my mind. I felt panicked while reading, especially as Sadie became more and more reckless. It’s so heartbreaking to see this girl who believes she has lost everything important in her world. The audiobook is amazing, partially told in the style of a podcast with a large cast of voice actors! They even added ambient noises during interviews. Every audiobook should aspire to that level of perfection.
