About the book

"The Man in the Brown Suit" is a gripping mystery and adventure novel that showcases Agatha Christie's early mastery of suspense and intrigue. The story follows Anne Beddingfeld, a young woman seeking excitement, who witnesses a fatal accident in a London tube station. When a man dressed in a brown suit examines the victim and flees, dropping a mysterious note, Anne finds herself drawn into a complex web of international crime. Her investigation leads her from the streets of London to the shores of South Africa, where she must navigate a dangerous world of diamond thieves, secret agents, and a ruthless criminal mastermind known only as "The Colonel." Featuring the first appearance of the recurring character Colonel Race, this novel blends traditional detective elements with high-stakes thriller motifs. Christie weaves a tale filled with unexpected plot twists, colorful characters, and the exotic locales characteristic of her finest work.As Anne pieces together the fragments of the puzzle, she must use her wit and courage to survive a journey fraught with peril. "The Man in the Brown Suit" remains a standout example of early 20th-century mystery fiction, offering readers a fast-paced and entertaining exploration of greed, identity, and justice. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. 58/2026 Der Mann im braunen Anzug

Denn so manche Person an Bord spielt kein gutes Spiel.
