The denizens of the Discworld are about to find out in this captivating entry in New York Times bestselling author Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. They say there are only two things you can count on: death and taxes. He’s an expert with a scythe, after all.Frolicking in greener pastures, Death is having the time of his life. For humanity though, Death’s loss leads to chaos, the kind that always arises when an important public service is cut. But what happens if Death doesn’t come for you? What do you do when your time is supposed to be up?The undead can’t be left wandering about like lost souls—there’s no telling what might happen. Particularly when they discover that life really is only for the living . . .The Discworld novels can be read in any order, but Reaper Man is the second book in the Death series. Death has a try at human life, learns what it means to dream and fear. Oh and also he falls a little bit in love while chaos unfolds on the disc. Another brillant book in the Discworld series. Death is such a fun character and I really enjoy him as a main protagonist. As always there were fun and wierd side charcters along with the usual Terry-Pratchett-humour. Also it is great when characters from other books in the discworld series pop up or you discover connections to characters and events you previously hadn‘t known about. I had a few of such moments in this book.
