Sorcery and Small Magics

I do have mixed feelings about this one but in the end I loved it. It follows a well known template of mm romantasy novels in my opinion. Especially in the beginning. That felt kind of tiring and frustrating to me (maybe because I've read too many of those). But once the two arrived in the forest, I was all in! I loved the monsters and honestly I could have read about them for several more chapters. I actually thought there would be more of a conclusion about their relationship by the end (I mean, we all know, right? They're such idiots!) and am now a little frustrated I have to wait to read the next book. ..which I'll certainly be doing.

This book was such a magical and beautiful Journey. The magic system is really unique. Sadly there isn‘t an anouncement for book 2 (from 3 😭)

Vor Beginn des Buches hab ich mit einer netten cozy Fantasy Geschichte gerechnet, die kurzweilig aber schön ist. Und der erste Band mag durchaus in das Genre passen, doch verspricht er als Beginn einer Trilogie deutlich mehr. Die Protagonisten wachsen einem schnell ans Herz und es macht Spaß dabei zusein, während sie einander langsam näher kommen, zwischen ihrem Gezanke. Slow-burn ist immer eine Sache für sich, das es echt wirkt und spannend bleibt. Ich finde die Autorin hat, was das angeht, wirklich gute Arbeit geleistet. Und auch das Magiesystem. Die Idee das immer zwei Personen nötig sind, eine die die Sprüche schreibt und die andere die sie wirkt, ist wirklich spannend. Vor allem das es feste, veraltete Regeln zu geben scheint, die viele unzufrieden lässt. Ich kann es kaum bis zum nächsten Band erwarten. Das Buch ist im übrigen unter dem Titel „Zauberei und etwas Magie“ auf Deutsch erschienen.
