Märchenadaptionen mit SiFi Setting. Star Wars trifft auf Sailor Moon. Eine ziemlich coole Kombi!
Die Luna Chroniken gibt es ja nicht erst seit gestern und lange hat sie auf meinem SUB - meinem Stapel der Schande - gelegen. Um so mehr freue ich mich, dass ich endlich dazu gekommen bin sie zu lesen. Bereits bei ersten Lesen der Beschreibung hat mich die Idee von einer mehr oder weniger Cyborg Cinderella fasziniert, obwohl ich eigentlich nicht der SiFi-Typ bin. Die Autorin hat es für mich wunderbar geschafft die Märchen-Elemente mit Technologie zu verbinden und eine stimmige und spannende Reihe zu schaffen. Cinder, Iko, Kai und der Rest des Teams haben mich sofort in ihren Bann gezogen und konnten mich mit ihren Eigenheiten für sich gewinnen. Bei so vielen Dialogen musste ich lachen und konnte mir das Schmunzeln nicht verkneifen. Aber auch ernste Szenen und Handlung wurden meines Erachtens gut umgesetzt. Vielleicht hatte ich auch an der ein oder anderen Stelle ein paar Tränchen in den Augen.. Ich hatte in keinem der Teile das Gefühl mich durch Längen quälen zu müssen, es war durchweg flüssig zu lesen und das Worldbuilding ist gut durchdacht. Es war absolut faszinierend von einer Welt zu lesen, in der der Mond bevölkert ist! (Wie gesagt, ich verirren mich eher selten in das SiFi Genre) ACHTUNG - Der nächste Abschnitt kann Spoiler enthalten! Cinderella mit einer Metalhand und einem Metallfuß, Rotkäppchen die versierte Pilotin, Rapunzel das Computer-Genie und ein Schneewittchen gegen die grausame Königin des Mondes neben Raumschiffen und Hovern zwischen der Erde und dem Königreich auf dem Mond. Und alle setzen ihre Hoffnungen in die totgeglaubte Kronprinzessin des Mondes. In allem ist die Reihe absolut lesenswert und eine tolle Kombination aus Märchen, SiFi, ein Hauch Star-Wars-Feeling und einem Touch von Sailor Moon!
Judging from the fun of reading them, this series of books definitely deserves these five stars. This series has a big cast of main characters without confusing the reader due to them being gradually introduced, a few at a time, and all of them, protagonists and love interests alike are interesting and, what is especially important, very different characters. Obviously that means you don't relate to all of them alike but they are still very interesting and have some kind of relationship or other which makes us care about all of them, at least in connection to our personal favourites. The way the fairytales are incorporated, closely, more loosely or even subverted, is one of my favourite tropes very well-done. My only critique is that it is very heteronormative. With such a big cast you'd expect at least one person to not be hetero, but even the female representing android is into men and men only.
