The Husky and His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun (Novel) Vol. 8

This volume was like one reveal/backstory/plottwist after the next. We got so much information! Therefore, the volume wasn't as soul-shattering as the last one, but there were also a lot of emotional moments, just mainly in the past 👀 The first big reveal had me bamboozled. I was suspecting that there was something going on with that character, but not like this! The other big reveal was totally unexpected, and at first, I didn't know what to think about it, but the more we learned about it, the more I thought it fit well with the story and its themes. I like that one leading topic is what it means to be evil. In the whole series, there is discourse about redemption, self-sacrifice for the greater good, kindness, justice, and evil. Is someone good or bad from the beginning? How does someone "become" evil? What is true justice? When is murder/revenge justified? These are some questions that arise throughout the story, and it's really interesting to contemplate their answers. Your perspective might also change when more context is revealed. There are a lot of very sad backstories in this series 🥲 I really liked that we saw even more of the past. It's amazing how there can be so much new information constantly. I am always impressed at the length of the series and the connection of everything (so much made sense now)! We still don't know everything, and there will be 3 more volumes. Really excited for the next one, as always 🥰 Especially now that we know so much more, I am thrilled to see how that information is used.
