Your Highness, I am forever your most devoted believer." — Heaven Official’s Blessing, Vol. 6 This volume was absolutely heartbreaking. The second half in particular is very heavy and emotionally intense, revealing more about Xie Lian’s past in a way that completely reframes his character. He is honestly one of the most complex and beautifully written characters I’ve ever read -so human, so painful, and so heartfelt. While the volume is dark overall, there are still tender and comforting moments, especially between Hua Cheng and Xie Lian. This volume feels like a major emotional turning point in the series, and while it left me anxious about what comes next, I’m holding onto hope as we move closer to the end.

Ein weiterer Band, der hauptsächlich aus einem Rückblicks-Arc besteht, und holy shit, war der gut! Er war zwar schmerzhaft (aber für mich persönlich angenehmer zu lesen als der andere Rückblick), aber es war toll für so viele Sachen endlich den Kontext zu erfahren! Und nicht nur für große Sachen, wie wie das alles mit dem Auseinandergehen des Xianle Trios passierte, sondern auch die kleineren, wo Xie Lian Ruoye und Fangxin her hat oder was es mit seinen Kochkünsten wirklich auf sich hat... Es hat mir das Herz gebrochen 😢

The beginning was great, thrilling but with cute moments. I love how everyone else thinks Hua Cheng is this big evil mastermind while he is just obviously in love with Xie Lian lol. The whole series also has a fable for secret or false identities and they get me every time with that, I was surprised again. One big mystery in terms of that is also White No-Face who is kind of the focus of this volume, especially when we enter the past, which is most of it. I have to say that part was really slow, kinda like the first flashback arc. It also had the same sad atmosphere (this time even sadder but surprisingly I didn't cry, maybe just wasn't in the mood idk) and while it was interesting I grew a bit impatient. I just finally wanted to know who this guy was! The last few chapters I was so confused what was going on or rather why it was happening, what the plan behind everything was. I can't wait to find out more in the next volume, especially at the point where we left off in the present, on that mountain. The volume really was too short 🥲
