Dieses Buch hat einfach alles Ich hab gelacht ich hab mich weggecringed aber ich hab auch geheult ich kann nicht mehr ich will garnicht wissen wie es weiter geht wenn das der "Anfang" war wirklich dieses ende vom Buch hat mich so zerstört das ich seit 20 min durchgehend am heulen bin ich komme nicht drauf klar das Mo Ran immer noch davon überzeugt ist das Shi Mei ihn gerettet hat und DIE GANZE ZEIT davon überzeugt war Shi Mei liebt( kein Shi Mei hate)

The book gripped me from page one and I finished it in three sittings. I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry, a rollercoaster of emotions that is clearly visible in my annotations. Meatbun has an incredibly refreshing and engaging style of writing. The "b"uns (heh, get it?) were absolutely delightful. Within a few chapters I was irrevocably in love with the characters; complex and human. Mo Ran is an interesting protagonist. He made me laugh and warmed my heart; I sympathized with him while also being disgusted by his cruelty and viciousness displayed in the flashbacks and some of his actions and thoughts. I'm curious to see his character development and more flashbacks over the next few volumes. The same goes for Chu Wanning. I want to grab him by the shoulders and shake him aggressively and hug him at the same time. The characters' relationships grew on me and I got thoroughly invested while reading. I was pulling my hair out at the revision of Chu Wanning's and Mo Ran's first meeting and especially their relationship was intriguing. How did they end up this way in Mo Ran's past life? What happened to make the both of them developed into the people they are? How more tragic can they become? The final arc felt a bit confusing and rushed due to the rather quick sequences and plot twists, but overall vol. 1 was a nice and exciting kick-off for the long series.
A new Danmei highlight
Mo Ran managed what no one before him did, becoming the sole ruler over the mortal realm, but after achieving that he realizes that everyone he held dear is gone and so he decides to die - only to be reborn again, in his own younger body! He basically time-traveled back to when he was 15 and a disciple under his most hated foe, his cultivation teacher Chu Wanning. But his feelings seem to be more complicated than that... Oh boy, here we go again, my second danmei! After my obsession with 'The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation' I wanted something new but also not too much and since there are only two volumes out atm I thought this would be a good start, also only heard good things 🖤 It's right up my alley being a slow burn enemies to lovers (but a little bit spicy already 😏) with the right amount of drama/tragedy but also comedy. Mo Rans remarks are hilarious 😂 My favorite was Chu Wanning though. One of these characters you can't see through in the beginning but slowly their thoughts are revealed and you are just 👀 There are also many things from Mo Rans past life that are still a mystery so the suspense is there, can't wait to find out more! A recommendation for fans of the genre and new ones as well. In terms of characters and names, it's also less complicated than Grandmaster, for example. You only really need to memorize 4 characters, the two main ones plus the two other disciples: Shi Mei (Mo Rans supposed true love, ha!) and Xue Meng (his cousin and Chu Wannings biggest fan). But your English should be good. They sometimes use more complicated words to sound poetic, I guess 😅 I had no problem with it, but looked up a few words here and there to get the exact meaning 😌

Definitiv keine Lektüre, die man naiv und ohne eigene Gedanken lesen sollte. Von Beginn an wird herausgestellt, was für eine kalte, tyrannische Person Mo Ran ist, wie viele Morde er begangen hat und wie groß sein Hass auf eine gewisse Person ist. Am Ende allein und verlassen nimmt er sich das Leben (kein Spoiler, so startet das Buch) ~ nur um sich im Körper seines 16 Jährigen Ichs wiederzufinden. Dieses Mal, so nimmt er sich vor, will er alles anders, besser machen. Er will die Menschen, die er liebt, beschützen und dafür gibt er alles. Das Buch ist nicht frei von toxischen Verhaltensweisen, teilweise krass, grausam und schockierend ~ vor allem auch Mo Rans Gedanken darüber. Aber trotzdem, diese 32 jährige, wie es wirkt, kaputte, gebrochene, einsame Seele, im Körper eines Heranwachsenden... und Mo Rans wirren Gefühle, die er (obwohl für die Lesenden fast eindeutig) nicht versteht. Es war teilweise wirklich lustig und gleichzeitig zum Haare raufen. Obwohl ich nicht vergessen konnte, was für ein Mensch Mo Ran in seinem früheren Leben war, habe ich mit ihm mitgefiebert. Er ist mir schon ein bisschen ans Herz gewachsen, aber ich hoffe, er entwickelt sich in den kommenden Bänden noch gaaaanz viel weiter. Auch wünsche ich mir mehr Einblicke in die Vergangenheit, um zu verstehen, warum Mo Ran zu diesem Tyrannen wurde. Kleine Flashbacks gerade in Bezug auf Chu Wanning gibt es immer wieder und die sind heftig. Beim Ende dachte ich 'neeein, wiesooo? 😂' und gehe jetzt direkt Band 2 lesen.
Ich kam am Anfang nicht so gut rein aber sonst ist das Buch sehr empfehlenswert.
Ich hatte am Anfang ein wenig Probleme reinzukommen, weshalb ich auch länger gebraucht habe dieses Buch zu lesen als normalerweise. Das lag aber auch vor allem an mir und nicht am Buch. Jedenfalls zu 90%. Ich habe auch ein wenig mixed feelings gegenüber Mo Ran. Aber ganz im allen habe ich dieses Buch sehr genossen und es gab auch Phasen in denen ich das Buch einfach nicht mehr zur Seite stellen konnte. I love Chu Wanning and I feel so sorry for him. He deserves better. Es gab viele sagen wir mal kleine Plottwists und es wurde nie langweilig. Ich weiss jetzt nicht ob ich mit dem zweiten Band jetzt schon anfangen möchte oder erst die anderen beiden kaufe damit ich nicht sterbe wenn der Cliffhanger vom zweiten Buch ultra krass wird und den dritten Band dann nicht zuhause habe. Aber im generellen hätte ich schon Bock jetzt mit dem 2. Band zu starten.
Vielversprechender Anfang!
Mo Ran aka Taxian-jun regiert als erster Kaiser über die Kultivierungswelt. Seines Lebens müde geworden, begeht er Selbstmord und findet sich im Körper seines 15-jährigen Ichs wieder. Er bekommt die Chance sein Leben noch einmal zu leben und zu verändern. Dabei trifft er auf seinen verhassten Lehrer Chu Wanning, der in seinem vorherigen Leben sein größter Widersacher war... Der Einstieg hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Mo Ran ist ein sehr unterhaltsamer Protagonist und Chu Wanning ist sehr missverstanden. Ich freue mich schon mehr über ihn zu erfahren. Die Handlung war durchgehend spannend. Wir begleiten Mo Ran unter anderem bei seiner "ersten" Mission und bei seinem Versuch eine Waffe zu bekommen. Nach allem was ich über die Reihe gehört habe, war der Anfang noch sehr humorvoll. Es soll aber wohl noch richtig heftig werden. Es gibt zwar immer wieder düstere und traurige Stellen, aber die Grundstimmung war doch wesentlich positiver als erwartet. Ich habe aber so ein Gefühl, dass sich das bei dieser Reihe ganz schnell ändern kann. Ich freue mich jedenfalls auf Band 2!
I love chu wanning
Had a Hard time getting into it at the start but I ended up binging it at the end. Something about Shi Mei annoys me. Mo ran and Xue Meng are so funny I love them🥹 I love Chu Wanning my pretty Princess he reminds me so much of Murong Chuyi. Please Read the Trigger Warnings though before Reading it🤓
Ugh. I really, truly, want to like danmei book series, but they do make it pretty hard for the reader, you know? That being said: In comparison to many other books, this series is well-translated and the writing style smooth. Nonetheless, the story is subpar at best. I know danmei focuses on the long run rather than on the short story. I know danmei usually gives us slow burn, but this story is meandering in the worst and most boring of ways. Besides: The teacher developing feelings for his 15-year-old student? Big oof.
