All Kane Montgomery knows for certain is that the police found him half-dead in the river. He can’t remember how he got there, what happened after, and why his life seems so different now. And it’s not just Kane who’s different, the world feels off, reality itself seems different. . As Kane pieces together clues, three almost-strangers claim to be his friends and the only people who can truly tell him what’s going on. But as he and the others are dragged into unimaginable worlds that materialize out of nowhere. Kane realizes that nothing in his life is an accident. And when a sinister force threatens to alter reality for good, they will have to do everything they can to stop it before it unravels everything they know. . This wildly imaginative debut explores what happens when the secret worlds that people hide within themselves come to light. . Reverie was a beautiful written YA Fabtasy by Ryan La Sala. I enjoyed the writing style and it was pretty easy to read. You get some Queer representation so it's also an own voice book. . I gave this book 5 ⭐ because U've found it very interesting diving into the Reveries.

Reverie is about high school student Kane who has lost most of his memory after a car crash. Struggling with finding back into his own life, he also has to deal with the police while trying to figure out himself what has happened. Some of his classmates seem to know more than him, and then there is also a threatening creature made of shadows that is following him. The first quarter of the book is dedicated to finding out about those mysteries and while I enjoyed that part, I couldn't wait to finally get to the fantasy aspects. Which were amazing! The writing is beautiful and poetic and manages to capture the magic very well. I loved the creativity and uniqueness it presented. My one point of criticism, however, is that I am not happy with all of Kane's actions. He has a hard time trusting anyone, which is understandable. I still wish there had been better friendships without all the suspicion in general. Especially since there was so much potential and past trust within this group! All in all, I did enjoy Reverie a lot. It's dreamy and playful and mysterious and I can only recommend it!
