Remedio a la aceleración : ensayos sobre la resonancia

We are going faster and faster! Growth and speed are cardinal values for modern capitalist economies. Hartmut Rosa, in the wake of the Frankfurt School, reflects on feelings of vertigo and disconnection and elaborates a novel theory of alienation and temporality: the logic of social acceleration. During his last trip to China, the German sociologist and philosopher was able to corroborate the processes of acceleration and the pathological aspects they induce in contemporary societies. Through concise essays and suggestive travel notes, Rosa proposes a remedy to the global frenzy: to enter into resonance with the world and others. This original philosophical concept refers to a way of relating socially and with the world based on recognition, affectivity and openness to the other.
