I've always had too many men in my life. My father, brothers, and nephews. They run this town, and although I've never given them a reason to worry, they treat me like I'm made of glass.
They're wrong, though. I've got it all together - college graduated by twenty-one and a business owner with a perfect record.
But I have one secret: I raced to grow up in case he ever came home.
Lucas Morrow grew up with us, but he left when I was thirteen. I've waited and worked to be sure everything is perfect when I see him again.
But I've waited years and maybe it's time to move on, get my own place and be my own person with new friends.
It's summer after all and I am my brothers' sister. Did they really think the apple fell that far?
Lucas
She thinks her family are the only men watching her. So innocent.
And I want to keep her that way. Even though I'm twelve years older, we were always the odd ones out.. She gravitated to me, and I always made sure she wasn't alone. When I left, I told myself she'd be fine without me.
But really, it was just an excuse to escape the guilt.
I only meant to come back for a few days, but she's grown up, her brothers are distracted, and one bad decision after another is circling her.
As well as old ghosts.
And old enemies.
She doesn't want a babysitter anymore, and if she ever finds out why I left town, she'll know why I'm not the best role model.
But I'm still the older one.
And she still needs supervision.

What an amazing, wild ride! Again!
5 Stars ⭐️ OMG! I LOVE THIS! To be honest, after reading Next to never I wasn't really excited to read Quinns story. But this book had it all. I really loved Quinn as the fcm and liked Lucas too. I also loved seeing old characters from the rest of the series and the fall away series again. It was like meeting old friends and I was glad to see so much of Farrow. For some reason him and Noah had insane chemistry. The Nightride Story had such a big thrill and I loved how we got so much more of the Urban legends. They are always my favorite part and Penelope Douglas really delivered again this time. We didn't just get to hear about Manas, Deacon and Winslet. We got to see them for real this time. And I loved every second of it. I would eat up a book just about their story but that will probably never happen. So I'll just be happy to learn more about them in each new book. Spoilers ahead!!!! Omg, that scene where Manas invited A.J. to New Orleans to come look for him there. She already seems like such an interesting fmc and she is only 11 right now but so so clever. And Winslet killing Reeves was so crazy. She is still somehow a wildcard to me because I have no idea what her agenda is but I loved everytime I got to know about her. It seems like she kind of identifies with Tommy Dietrich and might try to manipulate things in the next book since that will be about Kade and Tommy which I'm so excited for. The next to books will be so peak being Tommy x Kade and A.J.s book. What Manas said about Camp Blackhawk and burying Winslet there surely has me excited.
