Another short story, from one of my favourite authors. Nick Hornby is another one of those authors with a unique voice, somebody who you should listen to if he wants to tell you a story. (Which he is doing in cinemas soon btw. go and watch “A Long Way Down”, but read the book first, it’s awesome!) “Not A Star” is funny and quirky. I had to bite my tongue more than once to not laugh out loud in my office at work during lunch. But it’s also really insightful. You start to get suspicious about your brother, and the things he never tells you or anyone. And you will start wondering about the things you never tell anyone, what if you mother finds out? “When you get older, it feels like happy memories and sad memories are pretty much the same thing. It is all just emotion in the end. And any of it can make you weep.”
