Wenn man auf reddit nach Buchempfehlungen sucht kommt man an diesem Buch nicht vorbei!! Und ich verstehe warum das Buch so gehyped wird 🤭 Die Kritik die man im Internet so liest kommt wohl überwiegend von Leuten die es nicht selbst gelesen haben oder generell keine Romance Bücher lesen. Ja, es ist wirklich sehr explizit und spicy aberrrrr man bekommt eine super interessante Stadt, eine Protagonistin in die man sich wirklich gut hineinversetzen kann und eine absolute Green Flag (ein Mann der ihre Grenzen beachtet, gerne Süßigkeiten nascht und sich monatelang Zeit nimmt um seine Zukünftige auf dutzende verschiedene Dates mitzunehmen). Irgendwie hab ich aber die ganze Zeit das Gefühl gehabt, dass vor allem Rourke mir als Charakter eher fremd geblieben ist. Außer sehr expliziten Beschreibungen von seinem besten Stück hat man nicht allzu viel von ihm erfahren. Dafür gibt es aber inzwischen ein Buch das die Geschehnisse aus seiner Sicht erzählt, das werd ich auf jeden Fall auch noch lesen! Die Zeitsprünge haben mich etwas verwirrt, vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich keine Muttersprachlerin bin, aber gerade erzhält sie von einem Date das stattgefunden hat und im nächsten Moment sind die beiden bei genau diesem Date und erleben etwas? Generell wurde viel erzählt was sie unternommen haben, ohne das wirklich stattfinden zu lassen. Also sie haben ein dutzend Dates gehabt, die so toll waren und er hat so viel von sich und der Stadt erzählt? Ja was denn genau? Sehr gut hat mir aber das Worldbuilding und die Stadt gefallen, das Zusammentreffen der verschiedenen Monster in dem Cafe war richtig schön! Alsooo von mir schon eine Empfehlung aber man sollte sich bewusst sein was man da liest 🐮

…muss man mit den Klassikern starten. Und das ist einer (habe ich gehört 👀). Ich starte meine Rezi mal mit einem kurzen Vorwort für meine Mum, die hier meine Rezis liest: Hey Mum. Das ist ein Buch über Minotauren. Minotauren kommen in der griechischen Mythologie vor, somit zählt dieses Buch quasi zur Allgemeinbildung. Und Bildung ist wichtig, das hast du mir beigebracht. Und das ist alles, was du über dieses Buch wissen musst. Wirklich. Also nicht weiterlesen. 😅 [Vorsicht, wird gemol- … äh… gespoilert ❗️] Wer kennt es nicht - DAS Buch von dem alle sprechen, wenn das Wort Smut fällt. Wir haben hier Violet (nein, nicht die von Fourth Wing, auch, wenn ich bei dem Namen oft an sie denken musste 😅), die dringend einen neuen Job braucht. Und den findet sie auch - auf der Morning Glory Milking Farm. 🥛 Eigentlich ist es wie eine niedliche „Stadtmädchen arbeitet auf Farm“-Romanze. Nur halt ohne Farm und dass das, was dort gemolken wird, definitiv keine Kühe sind. 🐄🙅🏼♀️ (Mum? Liest du noch mit oder muss ich dir schon einen Krankenwagen wegen Herzanfall schicken? Ich sagte doch, lies nicht weiter. 😩) Jedenfalls blüht Violet regelrecht in ihrer neuen Arbeit auf und die Minotauren lieben ihr… äh… Handwerk. 🫢 Einer besonders, nämlich Rourke, dessen Name ich irgendwie nicht so aussprechen kann, dass er nicht so klingt, als müsste ich mir gerade Schleim aus der Kehle lösen. I mean, really. Try it. Jedenfalls reicht Violets… Begabung? Ihre Signet-Gabe? Whatever. Es reicht jedenfalls aus, dass Rourke sich in sie verliebt und sie melken glücklich, bis an ihr Lebensende. Srsly, er hat sogar seinen Nasenring für sie entfernen lassen. Was das nicht Commitment unter Kühen schreit, was dann? 🤷♀️
Als Buddy mit Sophie begonnen, dachten wir beide, das wird nen totaler Schund und Smut Read… Die Erwartungen waren gering, obwohl ich schon in einigen Buchgruppen gehört habe, das es gut sein soll. Um dann direkt das offensichtliche zu erwähnen… Ja, hier wird gemolken. Und zwar männliche Minotauren in einem Unternehmen der Pharmaindustrie. Und ja, jede einzelne Melk Szene war ein kleiner Fiebertraum! Nun, jetzt kommt das große Aber! Abgesehen von dieser merkwürdigen Milk Thematik war das echt ein richtig gutes Buch! Der Schreibstil war sehr angenehm und flüssig, das Setting klasse, in einer Welt, in der so allerlei Lebewesen mehr oder minder friedlich koexistiert. Unsere Protagonisten waren wirklich greifbar und sympathisch und wir erleben hier einen so unproblematischen, erwachsenen, gut kommunizierten Beziehungsaufbau, das ich absolut begeistert war! So muss das! Überzeugt euch gerne selbst! Leider gibt es in den meisten New Adult Romanen am Ende künstliches Drama, das allermeist auf Misskommunikation zurückzuführen ist und vermeidbar wäre und das nervt mich mittlerweile oft. Leute, redet doch einfach miteinander… Zum Schluss gab es noch etwas Spice und ein wirklich zufriedenstellendes Ende. 4,5 Sterne von mir! Die englischsprachige Cambric Creek Reihe von C. M. Nascosta umfasst 5 Bände und ich habe mir bereits den nächsten, Sweet Berries, geladen. Vielleicht gebt ihr dem ganzen auch eine Chance, oder kennt ihr die Reihe sogar schon? „Monster“Romance kriegt mich nicht
Thema im Buchclub war: Gottloser Smut. Da dachten wir uns bei dem Klappentext des Buches wohl, dass wir hier richtig smutty Zeug bekommen - Fehlanzeige… Langweilig, keine Story, zu viel Geschwafel Ab ca 75% ging es dann mit dem Smut los Man verpasst nichts, wenn man dieses Buch nicht liest.

Was soll ich sagen. Eigentlich nicht mein Genre aber ich dachte ich gebe dem Ganzen aus Spaß mal eine Chance, weil ich durch TikTok auf die Idee gekommen bin und muss sagen: Es war gar nicht Mal so "trashig" wie ich erwartet hatte. Eigentlich so überhaupt nicht trashig. Es war tatsächlich gut 👀 Die Story war jetzt nicht die Spannendste aber man hat sich in den guten ca. 300 Seiten gut Unterhalten gefühlt, nichts hat sich gezogen oder war langatmig. Gewöhnungsbedürftig natürlich was die Anatomie des Partners von Violet anging aber ansonsten war's völlig ok 😅 Die Romance war süß und der Bulle Rourke war ein richtiger Gentleman währendessen. Greenflag Verhalten 😌 Das Genre wird jetzt nicht mein Favorit aber ich lese mir gerne mal die anderen Teile der Autorin durch. Vielleicht ändert sich meine Meinung ja nochmal 🙃🤫 Solide 4/5 Sterne von mir. Erwartet nicht zu viel Spannung in der Story aber Smut ist gut vorhanden 😌
Sehr cute (und hot :D)
Ist es genauso gut wie meine anderen 5 Sterne Bücher? Ich finde es nicht vergleichbar. Aber ich finde einfach nichts, wofür ich irgendwas abziehen könnte 😂 Der Plot hat mich reingesogen. Ich fand es super unterhaltsam! Der Erzählstil war toll, es wurde meist zu wichtigen Szenen gesprungen und es hat sich nichts wie ein Lückenfüller angefühlt. Ich mochte, dass es viele verschiedene Wesen gab, die beste Freundin der Protagonistin war toll! Allgemein fand ich’s hilarious und musste oft lachen. Der Hauptprota war eine totale Green Flag und ich mochte ihn so viel mehr als so einige human Hauptprotas :D Insgesamt eine richtig süße Geschichte mit einem guten amount an Spice 😄

The bookcover is not what you're going to get! The digital cover/the one on Reado is much closer to it. I thought this would be a renaissance love story on a farm (like those cliche books) but it actually plays in the present. 🏘 The story itself was okay, the spice was also okay. In my opinion nothing groundbreaking. I was rooting for their love though so that is for sure a plus! The worldbuilding was top notch, i really got immersed and i loved all the quirky ideas like a restaurant for vampires and donor humans. I do want to read more in this world but i'm not sure if i want to read more from this author. Unfortunately the whole book felt rushed. There were typos literally in the first few pages + layout issues sometimes. Also the MG milk graphic was not sharp which is unfortunate. If you like: Huge minotaur penises, hand jobs and "filled out" trope this one is for you! 3.4/5 🌟
Ich habe mehr erwartet.
Man stellt sich die Frage: hat dieses Buch überhaupt eine Story? Und die Antwort lautet: nein, irgendwie nicht. Es ist einfach stink langweilig. Und abgesehen davon, dass ich festgestellt habe, das Monster-Smut nichts für mich ist, hatte ich auch in der Richtung mehr erwartet. Die ersten zwei Drittel des Buches hören wir hauptsächlich langwierige Monolog der Protagonistin über ihren Job, ihre Geldprobleme, ihre überfürsorgliche Mutter etc. Im letzten Drittel geht die Monster-Smut Sache los, aber auch gänzlich ohne Spannung. Ich sehe wirklich keinen Grund wieso man dieses Buch lesen sollte.
4 stars for the world-building. I ate up every crumb that was thrown in. I'm absolutely fascinated by this world and would love to read fully fleshed out stories based in something like this. Or even the story of Ennis and Byron. Or the neighbour and her bf. This book sets out to do a thing and does that decently enough. I'm personally not going to fault it for not being things it's not trying to be. Though, yay, no 3rd act conflict. The author's writing style does take a bit to get used to. Quite often the characters will mention an event, then it will flash back to it, and then back to the present.
Besser als erwartet
Bin durch die liebe victoria - Königin der schndschicken - auf tiktok drauf gekommen und musste es unbedingt lesen. Es war doch um weiten besser als erwartet das setting schon cringe aber wenn man die Arbeit von der Protagonistin austauscht gegen eine andere könnte das ein ganz normales office setting sein. Die zwei bereits aif Deutsch übersetzten Bücher sind nun auch bei mir eingezogen 😋
This was a KU buddy read with Jessi! This was my first monster romance, and let me tell you: I didn't hate it! I started reading this thinking it was going to be a 2-star, maybe 3-star read max, but let me just say, I quite enjoyed myself reading this. The smut was great (even though I am not 100% clear on the logistics of the ... you know). And what also surprised me so much was that I actually really enjoyed the two main characters' relationship! The guy (if that is an appropriate term for a MINOTAUR lmao) was so sweet and considerate, but know how to be steamy too, and we absolutely STAN that! Additionally, even though this is one of the most steamy books I have read thus far, there is still quite a lot of world-building, which makes it even more intriguing. Definitely will be reading more of this author!
Slow burn and smut at the same time
The love story is a slow burn, the spice is smutting from the start. Really cute and a good read. A big but for me was that one or two more runs either sole editors would have been wonderful . Missing letters or false paragraphs. Sometimes the background or side stories are woven in quite confusing at times. That’s why it only gets three stars.
Schöne Monster-Romance
Violet braucht dringend einen Job und findet einen etwas eher ungewöhnlichen auf einer Farm. Dabei kommt sie den Minotauren äußerst nah und ein Klient hinterlässt einen besonderen Eindruck bei ihr. . Violet ist eine sehr sympathische Protagonistin und gerade der Anfang, als sie partout nicht in die Kleinstadt ihrer Eltern zurückkehren will, und deshalb lieber den nächstbesten Job annimmt, lässt sie sehr real wirken. Die Arbeit auf der Farm ist wirklich ungewöhnlich, aber es ist cool, wie das für Violet mit der Zeit immer normaler wird. Rourke ist ein netter Kerl und er geht wirklich toll mit Violet um. Die Lovestory zwischen den beiden ist süß zu lesen. Besonders gut hat mir der Weltenbau gefallen: In dieser Welt leben Menschen mit Fabelwesen friedlich zusammen, auch wenn sich die Populationen an manchen Orten unterscheiden. In Cambric Creek dominieren eindeutig die Monster, aber es ist trotzdem eine völlig normale Kleinstadt. Auch wenn die Bedürfnisse natürlich an den größeren Teil der Bevölkerung, also an die Monster, angepasst sind. Das Buch lässt sich angenehm lesen.

Rating: 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐ Morning Glory Milking Farm by C.M. Nacosta. Is this book weird? Yes, probably. Was it still sweet and I enjoyed it? Also yes. “I’m glad we took some time to get to know each other. I know this wasn’t exactly a traditional way to meet, and I wanted to make sure you knew I was interested in you. Not just your perfect, tiny hands."- Rourke First, it’s important to note that I’m rating this book with the understanding that it falls somewhere between smut and erotica with a love story. There are explicit depictions of sexual acts throughout the book. If that’s not your cup of tea, this is definitely not the book for you. Violet starts a job as a milking technician - her job is ...well ..collecting semen from Minotaurs. It's not as weird as it sounds tbh. It is all very clinical and she doesn't feel anything except for Rourke—one of her first clients. Their love story was surprisingly sweet and not as sex-focused as one might think - except for his visits to the farm ofc. He really took time to get to know her and supported her in her growth and finding a job. I also appreciated how the book explored some deeper themes, like the prejudice between humans and monsters. This was a welcome touch that added depth to the story. Anyway, it’s also hard because he’s very conservative and from such an insular community. I’m not. My parents never took us to the sun temple when I was young; we didn’t really practice Elvish customs at home, but I’m still an elf. There are still things I grew up with that are familiar, food, and expectations that don’t always line up with the way he thinks things ought to be, and that’s what I mean about the little things. There were a few scenes toward the end that I could’ve done without, but overall, I liked their banter, and I enjoyed the inclusion of friends in the story. The writing style was also easy to follow. (! Very graphic ) This I could have lived without: His cock slipped from her like a particularly corpulent eel, swinging loose with a gush that sent a ripple up her back, splashing to the shower floor like an overturned bucket. Despite that, I still found the book enjoyable and its quirks made for an interesting read. Would I recommend it? If you’re into the genre and open to something on the more explicit side, definitely.
Super cute and wholesome. Think low stakes contemporary romance but he just so happens to be a bull lol. What threw me off was the writing style though. Violets thoughts were sometimes all over the place, and it was hard to understand if she‘s currently daydreaming, remembering something that happened in the past, or if we suddenly made a time jump of 3 weeks.
I liked the first half, but then there was a jump in the second half, skipping a bunch of their first dates just to have long flashbacks of them. All those flashbacks made me impatient, and from time to time I thought we wouldn't get back to the present, that maybe the flashback was the present now, with how long winded it felt to me. The story was interesting at first, but then nothing more happened, and working through the second half of the book felt like a task.

Die ersten zwei Drittel des Buches hören wir hauptsächlich langwierige Monolog der Protagonistin über ihren Job, ihre Geldprobleme, ihre überfürsorgliche Mutter etc. Im letzten Drittel geht die Monster-Smut Sache los, aber auch gänzlich ohne Spannung. Ich sehe wirklich keinen Grund wieso man dieses Buch lesen sollte.
4 stars for the world-building. I ate up every crumb that was thrown in. I'm absolutely fascinated by this world and would love to read fully fleshed out stories based in something like this. Or even the story of Ennis and Byron. Or the neighbour and her bf. This book sets out to do a thing and does that decently enough. I'm personally not going to fault it for not being things it's not trying to be. Though, yay, no 3rd act conflict. The author's writing style does take a bit to get used to. Quite often the characters will mention an event, then it will flash back to it, and then back to the present.
Besser als erwartet
Bin durch die liebe victoria - Königin der schndschicken - auf tiktok drauf gekommen und musste es unbedingt lesen. Es war doch um weiten besser als erwartet das setting schon cringe aber wenn man die Arbeit von der Protagonistin austauscht gegen eine andere könnte das ein ganz normales office setting sein. Die zwei bereits aif Deutsch übersetzten Bücher sind nun auch bei mir eingezogen 😋
This was a KU buddy read with Jessi! This was my first monster romance, and let me tell you: I didn't hate it! I started reading this thinking it was going to be a 2-star, maybe 3-star read max, but let me just say, I quite enjoyed myself reading this. The smut was great (even though I am not 100% clear on the logistics of the ... you know). And what also surprised me so much was that I actually really enjoyed the two main characters' relationship! The guy (if that is an appropriate term for a MINOTAUR lmao) was so sweet and considerate, but know how to be steamy too, and we absolutely STAN that! Additionally, even though this is one of the most steamy books I have read thus far, there is still quite a lot of world-building, which makes it even more intriguing. Definitely will be reading more of this author!
Slow burn and smut at the same time
The love story is a slow burn, the spice is smutting from the start. Really cute and a good read. A big but for me was that one or two more runs either sole editors would have been wonderful . Missing letters or false paragraphs. Sometimes the background or side stories are woven in quite confusing at times. That’s why it only gets three stars.
Schöne Monster-Romance
Violet braucht dringend einen Job und findet einen etwas eher ungewöhnlichen auf einer Farm. Dabei kommt sie den Minotauren äußerst nah und ein Klient hinterlässt einen besonderen Eindruck bei ihr. . Violet ist eine sehr sympathische Protagonistin und gerade der Anfang, als sie partout nicht in die Kleinstadt ihrer Eltern zurückkehren will, und deshalb lieber den nächstbesten Job annimmt, lässt sie sehr real wirken. Die Arbeit auf der Farm ist wirklich ungewöhnlich, aber es ist cool, wie das für Violet mit der Zeit immer normaler wird. Rourke ist ein netter Kerl und er geht wirklich toll mit Violet um. Die Lovestory zwischen den beiden ist süß zu lesen. Besonders gut hat mir der Weltenbau gefallen: In dieser Welt leben Menschen mit Fabelwesen friedlich zusammen, auch wenn sich die Populationen an manchen Orten unterscheiden. In Cambric Creek dominieren eindeutig die Monster, aber es ist trotzdem eine völlig normale Kleinstadt. Auch wenn die Bedürfnisse natürlich an den größeren Teil der Bevölkerung, also an die Monster, angepasst sind. Das Buch lässt sich angenehm lesen.

Rating: 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐ Morning Glory Milking Farm by C.M. Nacosta. Is this book weird? Yes, probably. Was it still sweet and I enjoyed it? Also yes. “I’m glad we took some time to get to know each other. I know this wasn’t exactly a traditional way to meet, and I wanted to make sure you knew I was interested in you. Not just your perfect, tiny hands."- Rourke First, it’s important to note that I’m rating this book with the understanding that it falls somewhere between smut and erotica with a love story. There are explicit depictions of sexual acts throughout the book. If that’s not your cup of tea, this is definitely not the book for you. Violet starts a job as a milking technician - her job is ...well ..collecting semen from Minotaurs. It's not as weird as it sounds tbh. It is all very clinical and she doesn't feel anything except for Rourke—one of her first clients. Their love story was surprisingly sweet and not as sex-focused as one might think - except for his visits to the farm ofc. He really took time to get to know her and supported her in her growth and finding a job. I also appreciated how the book explored some deeper themes, like the prejudice between humans and monsters. This was a welcome touch that added depth to the story. Anyway, it’s also hard because he’s very conservative and from such an insular community. I’m not. My parents never took us to the sun temple when I was young; we didn’t really practice Elvish customs at home, but I’m still an elf. There are still things I grew up with that are familiar, food, and expectations that don’t always line up with the way he thinks things ought to be, and that’s what I mean about the little things. There were a few scenes toward the end that I could’ve done without, but overall, I liked their banter, and I enjoyed the inclusion of friends in the story. The writing style was also easy to follow. (! Very graphic ) This I could have lived without: His cock slipped from her like a particularly corpulent eel, swinging loose with a gush that sent a ripple up her back, splashing to the shower floor like an overturned bucket. Despite that, I still found the book enjoyable and its quirks made for an interesting read. Would I recommend it? If you’re into the genre and open to something on the more explicit side, definitely.
Super cute and wholesome. Think low stakes contemporary romance but he just so happens to be a bull lol. What threw me off was the writing style though. Violets thoughts were sometimes all over the place, and it was hard to understand if she‘s currently daydreaming, remembering something that happened in the past, or if we suddenly made a time jump of 3 weeks.
I liked the first half, but then there was a jump in the second half, skipping a bunch of their first dates just to have long flashbacks of them. All those flashbacks made me impatient, and from time to time I thought we wouldn't get back to the present, that maybe the flashback was the present now, with how long winded it felt to me. The story was interesting at first, but then nothing more happened, and working through the second half of the book felt like a task.
