Nice little book to remember a childhood star.
I loved Pipi when I was a child but I never read the book although I watched it on telly several times. As often as Pipi tells stories she also says: " Don't believe everything one tells you." Some parts of the stories didn't age too well but all in all it's still a good book.
Ein wertvolles Stück Kindheit
Ich habe dieses Buch auf Deutsch gelesen. Es erzählt viele verschiedene Geschichten über Pippi, Herrn Nielson und ihre Freunde Tommy und Annika. Auch wenn es an einigen Stellen für die heutige Zeit etwas veraltet oder sogar politisch inkorrekt erscheinen mag, ist Astrid Lindgren einfach eine großartige Kinderbuchautorin gewesen, die mit ihren Figuren den Kindern aus der Seele spricht.
Mein erstes englisches Buch. Es hat nur wenige Tage gedauert, bis ich es beendet hatte und ich fand es natürlich toll. Pippi Langstrumpf hat mich seit meiner Kindheit durchs Leben begleitet und daher war mir die Geschichte natürlich durch die Filme bekannt. Gelesen habe ich das Buch allerdings zuvor nie. Es war schön, etwas Leichtes auf englisch zu lesen, das man ein wenig kennt und wo man sich auch mit ein paar fehlenden Vokabeln reinfallen lassen konnte. Eine tolle Erfahrung mit einer tollen Geschichte, die mit Humor und Pippis Persönlichkeit zu überzeugen weiß. Kann ich natürlich nur weiterempfehlen. (:
Pippi Longstocking was the heroine of my childhood. I have no idea how often I read this book, but I remember watching the movies even more often. A fantastic story, light-hearted and adventurous alike, appropriate for adults as well as children. (I remember the movies more vividly than the book, but my mom told me I had borrowed this book from our school's library when I was seven or eight, so it seems like I have read it as well. The images from the almost perfect movies still stick in my mind, though.)
