Loved it!

This book completely captivated me from start to finish! I found myself fully immersed in every scene, as if I were watching a romantic comedy unfold before my eyes. One of the aspects I enjoyed the most were the exchanges of letters between Naomi and Luca, even when their contents were teasing or downright mean. It was oddly entertaining to observe their reactions to each other's words! Luca's mysterious personality fascinated me, and I truly relished the gradual unveiling of his secrets. It kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat, even when I thought I had the story all figured out. I don't want to give away any spoilers, as they would detract from the essence of the story. The seamless transitions between past and present, as well as the heartfelt exchanges between Naomi and Luca, deeply touched me and brought these characters closer to my heart. The slow development was masterfully executed and made it impossible for me to put the book down. Despite its complexity, the story of Naomi and Luca was undeniably beautiful, with poignant moments balanced by uplifting ones. Whenever Naomi and Luca were together on the page, they never failed to bring a smile to my face and fill me with excitement! Even Luke proved to be a pleasant and captivating character, adding to the richness of the story. While there were moments of frustration with both characters, their actions ultimately felt justified in the grand scheme of things. Overall, this book completely blew me away, and I can't stop thinking about it. The supporting characters, especially Anne, were also wonderful additions to the story, and I eagerly anticipate more from the author, as her writing style has truly fascinated me! Thank you to netgalley and Harper Collins UK For Providing me the e-Review Copy.

Einfach perfekt.

What a fun book this was! When I read the excerpt from it, I already knew this could be fun, but I wasn’t prepared for how fun it would be. I loved Naomi and Luca. I loved their dynamics even as they were kids and writing mean letters as penpals, as much as I liked them as adults. It wasn’t a far stretch to find out who Luca was, but that didn’t diminish the fun I had while listening to this. You can’t say this was a great work of writing or the best book ever written, but I really liked it while it lasted.

Cute romance, loved the banter. Twist was a little predictable and while the epilogue was cute, I would've preferred for it to happen after a bigger time jump. Two years and all that has already happened..... maybe try five years at least

„Hate Mail“ is a story about Naomi and Luca starting off as „pennemies“ in elementary school and never stopping to write each other up until their early/mid-twenties. Luca felt like the actual main character of the book because we get a lot more insight into his family dynamics, his hardships and journey up until they both meet. Naomi on the other hand feels like the supporting character because she’s just the quirky weather girl with her decades long penpal. We get no info about her family, her motivations or anything other than the relationship with Luca, which is kind of disappointing. Coming back to Luca‘s hardships; he’s had a few such as loosing his mom due to illness and being in a somewhat abusive relationship (if you can even call it that). Speaking particularly about the relationship I noticed some weird things: he was very passive in the dynamic with the other person. She was very much someone that bulldozed her ideas through until she got what she wanted and I guess being somewhat non-responsive in that way made it easier for her to achieve what she wanted (not all the way to the marriage, but you get the point). And her being labeled crazy and scary is kind of just giving icky vibes. At last all the surrounding stuff:-I liked the friendship between Anne and Naomi, that was so cute. Especially how they went on random ass trips to find clues about Luca-I really don’t like this type of misunderstanding that he didn’t reallyyyy tell her he was Luca and she just assumed that he was someone completely new coming into her life (gives me the ick)-cute pet situation-what’s up with the random baldness fetishThat’s it, thank you for coming to my Ted talk ☺️

It was a cute little read but really predictable. I figured out who he was on like the first pages Jake was mentioned.

I found this book very cute (especially when we got a closer look at the letters) but I didn’t like the ending very much
