Ich kannte den Mythos von Iphis und Ianthe bereits und fand diesen von Anfang an irgendwie faszinierend. Jahrelang hatte ich Girl Meets Boy in meinem Regal stehen, ohne mir bewusst zu sein, dass das Buch diesen Mythos thematisiert. Sonst hätte ich es wahrscheinlich schon früher gelesen. Ali Smith verwendet wunderschöne Stilmittel um in diesem kurzen Buch eine Geschichte über Liebe und Revolution zu erzählen. Darüber, nicht nur zu dem zu stehen, wer man ist, sondern auch dazu einzustehen. Der alte Mythos wird in die Geschichte eingeflochten. Mir hat das Buch gut gefallen, vor allem wegen des schönen Schreibstils.
