Ein würdiges Finale der Trilogie!
Es geht größtenteils um den Kampf der Sachsen als Invasoren gegen die Heimat verteidigenden Britannier rund um die Artus-Legende. Vielleicht manchmal ein bisschen vorhersehbar aber ein guter Abschluss. Es ist viel Mystik und Magie durch die Druiden enthalten und Bernard Cornwell stellt insbesondere die Schlachten bzw. das brutale Kämpfen im Schildwall sehr bildhaft und ausführlich da. Der Hauptcharakter Derfel ähnelt m.E. nach dem des Uhtred aus der gleichnamigen Saga von Bernard Cornwell. Die Legende um König Arthur lebt weiter auch wenn seine tatsächliche Existenz höchst umstritten ist 😉

OMG war das gut! Diese Reihe ist etwas ganz besonderes und dieser 3. Teil ein perfekter Abschluss der Sagen rund um Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot und co. Für mich gibt es keine bessere Erzählung dieser Legenden. Es ist fesselnd, spannend, geradezu ein berauschender Sog. Ich kann es nun kaum erwarten, die Verfilmung als Serie zu sehen und hoffe, dass die Personen und Events darin genau so gut umgesetzt werden.
