Seine sozialen Beziehungen werden im Licht des "Hat es sich gelohnt, seinen eigenen körperlichen Bedürfnissen nachzugehen?" beleuchtet und zeigen aus dieser späten Lebensperspektive die Vergänglichkeit von Entscheidungsgründen. Zurück bleibt beim Leser ein Gefühl des Mitleids mit der Hauptfigur ob seiner Verbitterung und die Hoffnung, es selbst besser zu machen/bisher selbst besser gemacht zu haben. Ein Buch zum Nachdenken über das Leben, den Tod und sich selbst. Keine leichte Kost, aber sprachlich ein großartiger "Roth"!
