"We're not heroes, Amber. We don't have that luxury." I'm in tears. I had totally forgotten about that ending... What an awesome finale for an awesome trilogy! The more I read, the more I sometimes thought I was reading about Valkyrie and Skulduggery because Amber and Milo are kinda the same with their bickering and sarcasm. I loved the fast pacing of this and it definetly leaves a door open for more stories on the Dark Highway. Awesome!
Once I picked up American monsters, I couldn't put it down. Sure, the dialogue is ridiculous from time to time and I'm not sure I was laughing at it for the right reasons but still this was a great and emotionally firtig conclusion to the series. I enjoyed how this time around, the characters that we knew already appeared more and were utilized in a fashion that felt fitting to the character and their story importance. This applied especially to Glen, who I was missing in the previous book. Personally, I felt like too many characters died in this book that wouldn't have needed to for the story to make sense, but sadly it was to be expected from this kind of series. Generally, it is a good book and a good conclusion to Amber's arc and I do like that she gets her happy ending, even if it doesn't happen the way I pictured it in the first book.
