This slow burn, enemies-to-lovers is perfect for romantasy readers who love Raven Kennedy, Amanda Bouchet, and Carissa Broadbent

--

I find myself in a place surrounded by enemies, closer to death than ever before, and far away from the only person I want.
Lorian . . .

Amidst a betrayal we couldn't have anticipated, I'll do whatever it takes to find my way back to him - before his fury lays waste to this continent.
Alliances are being forged and broken. Our enemies are unifying.
And Regner is closing in . . .

We have only one chance to prevent him from attaining god-like powers and enslaving every human, fae and hybrid across the four kingdoms.

Meanwhile, Regner believes I'm trapped here, yearning for my death, and waiting for Lorian to save me.

But Regner hasn't yet realized that I'll stop at nothing to free my people.

And he's the one who should be afraid of me.

I cried 4 times. The battle has begun. A prophecy came true. I have started reading the 4th book!

And so, the story continues. One of the characters died, and that death has brought me to tears 4 times. There are more adventures and events happening, since this is the 3rd of 4 books. So I can feel the climb. The story is nearing it's end. There are more challenges of course, hard ones and harder ones. This book has made me mad at characters a lot. There is simply more of everything: adventures, deaths, action, romance, spice. And also more character POVs, some of which I think were unnecessary. I still read everything though, so that speaks for the way this book is written. At least for me.
