About the book

A reckless holiday in sun-drenched Italy. A society unprepared for the consequences. When a group of English travellers venture beyond the familiar comfort of Edwardian England, their journey collides with passion, tragedy, and the unyielding power of cultural difference. At first I didn't like this book much. In my opinion it was often much too clichéd. I even wanted to quit read it and only continued because it is on the 1001 books list and I thought there had to be a reason for it. The second part of the book was a lot better and I actually enjoyed reading it. I also liked the end even though it is quite sad.
