Interessantes Buch!
Bride of Shadow King handel von Vor dem Schattenkönig der sich eine menschliche Braut sucht. Ilsevel soll seine Königin werden, aber warum geht im Faraine nicht aus dem Kopf? Für mich war das Buch am Anfang etwas schwer zum reinkommen. Ich glaube aber es lag mehr daran, dass ich es auf Englisch gelesen habe und der Schreibstil manchmal komplizierte Wörter brauchte. Die Geschichte an sich fand ich toll auch die Story. Obwohl das Buch kanpp 450 Seite hat, habe ich trotzdem das Gefühl nocht nicht viel zu wissen. In Vor's Königreich herrscht nämlich eine Bedrohung aber für mich ist es alles noch etwas Geheimnisvoll. Die Charaktere mochtw ich gern. Beide scheinen ihre Geheimnisse zu haben. Ich bin gespannt ob man im zweiten Band nocht etwas mehr Wordlbuilding hat um das Königreich von Vor besser kennenzulernen!
Kein erkennbarer Trope für mich
Prinzessin Farianes Schwester Ilsever soll den Schattenkönig heiraten. Vor (Sein Name) gehört einem Reich an das unter Tage lebt und immer mehr auseinander fällt. Das einzige was helfen kann sind Misphats und an die kommt er entweder durch Krieg mit den Menschen oder durch eine Heirat. Doch Faraine und Vor lernen sich während der Verhandlungen kennen... Und mögen. Ich hab das alles nicht erwartet. Der Plot hatte so viel mehr Tiefe und Worldbuilding. Ich weiß nicht wem ich trauen kann, ich bin am Rätseln was mit Vors Heimat passiert und am Grübeln warum Faraine so lange ihr Geheimnis für sich behält. Ich liebe wie alles beschrieben wird ohne langatmig zu wirken. Ich bin so so froh, dass ich Band 2 und 3 schon bestellt habe als ich gerade mal auf Seite 50 war.
Romantasy with a slow burn romance, heavy pining, a pretty elaborate world-building and interesting political plot. It sucked me in right away. Just wished the side characters were a little bit more flashed out and while the book was pretty long I feel like I’m still missing a lot of vital information.

I would only hope that even a wild bird might be convinced to remain of its own free will.
