Heaven Official's Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu (Novel) Vol. 5

The fifth volume was again really great. We follow how Hua Cheng and Xie Lian grow closer and closer, and together with some familiar characters we accompany them on their way to Mount Tonglu. More and more secrets are being revealed, and slowly we are getting closer to the mysterious White No-Face. On one hand, I want to continue reading right away, but on the other hand, I have the feeling that the most painful scene will be in volume 6.

In the Beginning I was still mourning the loss of my beloved Shi qingxuan and the pacing was very slow so it took me a long while to get through the beginning of the book. But it was so worth it! The build up in the second half of the book was great and there was a lot of new lore uncovered about the whole cast. And sure the cast is made up of like 10 people but somehow I grew attached to them over the span of the book. The book itself knows that we, from Xie Lian's perspective, were never close to Pei Ming before... but tbh that changed without me noticing; suddenly I thought, "Pei Ming is great"; and then Xie Lian noticed it later, too. I love the Yin Yu backstory and I adore that we got more context for him and Yizhen's relationship. We also learn a lot about Yushi and I love it. Overall it's a bit less plot heavy but it was so fun, not a life changing 5 star read but definitely a good book!

Hua Cheng und Xie Lian haben sich endlich daran gewöhnt und es zur Normalität gemacht, den anderen hier und da mal zu berühren - Umarmungen, Händchenhalten - es ist so unfassbar süß. Man merkt deutlich, dass Hua Cheng Hals über Kopf in Xie Lian verliebt ist und einfach alles für sein „Gege“ tun würde. Storytechnisch bin ich wirklich verwirrt. Die Geschichte ist genial, aber mir raucht der Kopf, wenn ich versuche die Verbindung zwischen dem Kronprinzen von Wuyong und Xie Lian zu entschlüsseln. Es kann kein Zufall sein, dass sich die Story der beiden so sehr gleicht.
