Kings Rising (The Captive Prince Trilogy Book 3)

Ein gelungener Abschluss! Die Reihe hat mir insgesamt wirklich sehr gut gefallen, die Charaktere haben sich toll weiterentwickelt, es gab eine superschöne Liebesgeschichte und es war spannend bis zum Ende. ⛓️‍💥 "I think if I gave you my heart, you would treat it tenderly."

Ich muss ehrlich gestehen, beim ersten Buch der Reihe war ich zweimal kurz davor es abzubrechen, da es in den ersten Seiten wirklich sehr brutal war. Aber ich bin mehr als froh, dass ich es nicht gemacht habe, denn das zweite und auch nun das letzte Band der Reihe haben mich völlig von den Füßen gehauen. Die politischen Intrigen, Verrat, das Charakter Development und natürlich auch die Enemies To Lovers Entwicklung zwischen Laurent und Damen machen diese Reihe zu einer meiner Favoriten. Endlich mal ein „richtiges“ Enemies to Lovers, bei dem sie sich zu Beginn wirklich abgrundtief hassen und es sich am Ende zu einem logischen, emotionalen und all in all sehr gut abgestimmten Lovers-Trope entwickelt. Die Reihe würde ich jedem, der Enemies To Lovers mag, weiterempfehlen.

The last and best volume, in my opinion. As the title says, the kings are rising. The cat is out of the bag, Damianos is alive, and he's come to slay (his enemies) 💖 Honestly, this one battle was giving battle of the bastards (from Game of Thrones. It generally has some similarities in vibes, just, you know, gay ✨️). I generally love plots where enemies have to work together, so I just LOVED everything about the plot of this volume. We get more characters from Akielos. My favorite is obviously Nikandros. His reactions to certain things, especially concerning Laurent, were hilarious 😂 Most conversations including Laurent and his sharp tongue are 🤭 There were also many sweet scenes, even though Laurent seemed very harsh in the beginning, but it made sense. He isn't used to letting his walls down, especially not at something uncertain. The whole finale was so well made. I remember how bamboozled I was at that one reveal, though on a reread, it's so obvious. There were so many hints, but just like Damen, I didn't see them for what they were. Well, and then the end itself might seem kinda quick and abrupt. If there was nothing else, I would criticize it, but we have the short story collection with "The Summer Palace," which acts as a much needed epilog, so I am fine with it. Really, read that. It's not really finished without it, in my opinion. Well, what else is there to say. A masterpiece. My favorite series/trilogy. Best enemies to lovers story. A delight.
