4.5Ein Einblick in ein bewegtes Leben und das Land Indien
Ich fand diese Autobiografie überraschend gut. Vor mehr als 15 Jahren habe ich während einer Reise durch Indien „Der Gott der kleinen Dinge“ gelesen. Ich weiß noch, dass ich das Buch damals unglaublich gut fand. Umso spannender war es jetzt, durch diese Biografie noch einmal in ihre Welt einzutauchen. Darin erfährt man nicht nur viel über ihr Leben, sondern auch über die politische Geschichte Indiens und die Entwicklungen der letzten Jahrzehnte. Das fand ich wahnsinnig interessant. Mich hat beeindruckt, wie konsequent Arundhati Roy ihre Stimme genutzt hat und welchen Preis sie dafür teilweise zahlen musste. Ich habe jetzt richtig Lust bekommen, „Der Gott der kleinen Dinge“ noch einmal zu lesen, diesmal mit ganz anderen Augen. Und „Das Ministerium des äußersten Glücks“ wird definitiv auch bald bei mir einziehen.
