The ingenuous farmboy Yuva must accompany a contingent of knights through the increasingly dangerous floors of massive tower on the way to rescue the princess, Nihei bringing his unique sensibility to bear on a crumbling world of malformed creatures, wounded soldiers, and labyrinthine darkness.
Even as the mystery of Yuva's lineage is unraveled, a new group of intrepid (and somewhat seasick) adventurers arrives to assay the Dragon Tower. A crippled dracomorph and his mute assistant, a Ratwick princess and her stout knight defender, an aged pyromancer and his loyal crow-goat steed, a battle maiden in full plate armor—what dangers await this motley crew within the labyrinthine stone monolith's walls…?

Ein Zwischenfazit
Zur Story sag ich nichts, dafür gibt es den Klappentext. Die Erzählstruktur ist teilweise eher episodisch, dann laufen wieder zwei Erzählstränge zusammen und so geht es weiter. Vom Vibe her eher etwas für Fans von Knights of Sidonia als von Blame oder Aposimz. Man trifft hier auf dieselbe Art Humor. Was die Zeichnungen angeht...puh. Wer Nihei für Blame schätzt, wird hier nicht glücklich werden. Es geht eher in Richtung Aposimz, allerdings mit latentem Downfall. Wer ein Nihei-Fangirl ist wie ich, wird sich die Reihe ohnehin holen. Wer Knights of Sidonia mochte und auch einen Faible für Dungeons hat, wird hier auch Unterhaltung finden. Wer Nihei für die SciFi gelesen und Blame, Biomega und Abara geliebt hat, sollte sich das Geld hier sparen.
