Description

It begins with a glimpse or a passing thought. It ends in obsession. One day a renowned author discovers that his wife, a war correspondent, has disappeared leaving no trace. Though time brings more success and new love, he remains mystified - and increasingly fascinated - by her absence. Was she kidnapped, blackmailed, or simply bored with their marriage? The unrest she causes is as strong as the attraction she exerts. His search for her - and for the truth of his own life - takes him from France to Spain, Croatia and, eventually, the bleakly beautiful landscape of Central Asia. More than that, it takes him from the safety of his world to a totally unknown path, searching for a new understanding of the nature of love and the power of destiny. With 'The Zahir', Paulo Coelho demonstrates his powerful and captivating storytelling.

Siehe Brida, siehe Der Alchimist. Dieser ganze New Age spirituelle Kram ist einfach nichts für mich. Das sind genügend Werke von diesem Autor um sich eine eigene Meinung zu bilden. Nach diesem Buch ist's endgültig aus mit Paulo Coelho.

1.5 stars. This was pure bullshit, the writing was okay actually enjoyable but the content was utter bullshit. I have no idea what in heck I have read. I DNF'd after pushing myself for 3 days to try and get through this book thinking there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Sorry to say, the light was not even a light it was a reflection of a reflection of shit. Yes just like you didn't understand that last sentence is how I feel about this book. Why isn't important to know the reason for train tracks to be 143.5cm. Honestly, this is the second book of this author that I have DNF'd this year. I read 11 minutes a long time ago and it was decent but the rest of his writing, you need to be high on every known psychedelic drug to even glimpse at what he is trying to say. This was all about his entitled regurgitation of being able to to sleep with as many women as he wanted and live life without responsibility and have his fun without caring about anyone one else who got hurt in the process. Suffice to say, this is the last time I am attempting to read Paulo's books. I clearly have not attained the "spiritual enlightenment" he has.
