Description

THE EPIC CONCLUSION TO THE ACCLAIMED SAPPHIC TRILOGY

Malini has claimed her rightful throne as the empress of Parijatdvipa, just as the nameless gods prophesied. Now, in order to gain the support of the priesthood who remain loyal to the fallen emperor, she must consider a terrible bargain: Claim her throne and burn in order to seal her legacy-or find another willing to take her place on the pyre.

Priya has survived the deathless waters and now their magic runs in her veins. But a mysterious yaksa with flowering eyes and a mouth of thorns lies beneath the waters. The yaksa promises protection for Ahiranya. But in exchange, she needs a sacrifice. And she's chosen Priya as the one to offer it.

Two women once entwined by fate now stand against each other for the sake of their respective homes. But when a new enemy rises, they will once again find themselves fighting together to prevent their kingdoms, and their futures, from burning to ash.

The Lotus Empire brings Tasha Suri's acclaimed Burning Kingdoms trilogy to a heart-stopping close. As an ancient magic returns to Ahiranya and threatens its very foundations, Empress Malini and priestess Priya will stop at nothing to save their kingdom-even if it means they must destroy each other.

'Tasha Suri will go down in history as one of the great fantasy authors of this era. The Burning Kingdoms trilogy takes her extraordinary imagination, her lyrical style, and her gift for crafting intricate characters, then fires them in a furnace of war and ancient magic and sapphic yearning, giving us an epic like no other. Malini and Priya will carve themselves into your memory'
Samantha Shannon, author of The Priory of the Orange Tree

Wunderschöner Schreibstil, aber mittendrin zu langsame Handlung

Gut.

Die Welt dann doch mehr memorable als die Story. Sie wirkte irgendwie an Stellen so all over the place. Charaktere waren aber schön und wie sie interagiert haben, besonders die secondary Charaktere die mehr Zeit bekommen haben fand ich gut.

Oh My God. I was so scared to read this book. I was so afraid that it would not hold up and end in a way I hated. Needless to say, neither happened. I am wholly and entirely in love with this series. I deeply love effectively the entire cast. Though the start was a little slow, it felt so right. Seeing how both Priya and Malini fight for control and attempt to honor their roles. And my god the ending. I was fighting tears at work. I love these women so much. The ending was so incredibly bittersweet and gut wrenching. It's exactly what they needed. I can not articulate how much I adore these books. (Also Rao is incredible and deserves the world, my heart hurts for him)

urghh, this just made me emotional!

As with the other two books in the trilogy, I absolutely adored the writing style and choice of words. It was so immersive and beautiful, especially the parts about nature and how Tasha Suri described it. I found the first half of the book a little lengthy, this probably could’ve been 50 pages or so shorter. Bhumikas chapters were the only ones in which anything really needed to happen to move the story along but nothing happened, so it just trundled along. This last 150 pages were where the action really picked up and I loved that part! The Lotus Empire is a great last book of this trilogy and ties all of the storylines neatly together, but the ending was just… not entirely to my taste. Maybe I need to read this entire trilogy again back to back to really fully appreciate this third part haha
