Spannend, clever und humorvoll!
„The Curator“ ist der dritte Band der Washington-Poe-Reihe, und obwohl ich im Urlaub viel unterwegs war, habe ich das Buch regelrecht verschlungen. Schon das erste Kapitel deutet an, dass Poe und Tilly Bradshaw einiges bevorsteht, auch wenn zunächst unklar bleibt, wohin sich die Geschichte entwickelt. Als an verschiedenen Orten Finger mit einem rätselhaften Zettel auftauchen, beginnt eine spannende Jagd nach Zusammenhängen, Identitäten und natürlich dem Täter. Poe darf wieder unkonventionell ermitteln genau das, was er am besten kann und hat dabei Tilly als kluge, loyale Partnerin an seiner Seite. Als auch noch das FBI ins Spiel kommt, wird der Fall noch komplexer. Selbst nachdem die Opfer identifiziert sind, bleibt es undurchsichtig, voller Wendungen und Überraschungen. Besonders gefallen haben mir die Dialoge zwischen Poe und Tilly, ihre direkte Art und die humorvollen Momente, etwa wenn sie neugierig nach DI Flynn fragt, die hochschwanger versucht, ihren Job zu machen. Das Buch hat mich bestens unterhalten, und ich freue mich schon sehr auf den nächsten Teil der Reihe.

The details are deeply unsettling. As Poe and Tilly begin investigating, they uncover the trail of one of the most dangerous serial killers in the world. The third book in the series was a hell of a ride! Once again, Poe and his team have to rely on real detective work and dig deep to follow the evidence. The story was completely unpredictable for me, and the final reveal genuinely caught me off guard. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a well-paced and clever murder hunt. Really looking forward to continuing this series!

Ich frage mich langsam, ob C.W. Craven eventuell der britische Fitzek ist. Erstmal spannend zu lesen, Bradshaw und Poe machen echt Spaß, aber das Ende... Oha... Die Haare werden immer länger, so sehr wird dran gezogen. Diesen Teil der Reihe habe ich auf Englisch gelesen. Ich bin eigentlich ganz gut im Training, aber tatsächlich musste ich doch so einige Vokabeln und Ausdrücke nachschlagen. Gott sei Dank ging das mit dem Tolino ganz easy! Sprachlich auf jeden Fall anspruchsvoller als manch anderer Krimi oder Roman. Das hat mir echt was gebracht. eBook (englisch)
