Mir hat der Schreibstil der Autorin sehr zu gesagt. Man könnte gut und flüssig lesen. Ich fand es sehr gut, das in Abschnitte eingeteilt wurde und dort noch mal in daten und Orte. Die Bartholomäusnacht wurde sehr deutlich beschrieben und man konnte etwas daraus lernen. Das Minou Martha nicht aufgeben wollte all die Jahre kann ich verstehen. Fraglich ist ob Aimerics Schicksal bei so einem guten Spionagenetz wirklich nicht aufgedeckt worden wäre, aber das ist haarspalterei. Ich fand es gut, das immer wieder auf das Innenleben der Personen eingegangen wurde. Während ich das ganze Buch über Louis gehasst habe, tat er mir am Ende leid als er mit anhören muss, was Vidal wirklich über ihn denkt. Ich fand es gut das reale Personen und Geschehnissen mit fiktiven vermischt wurden. So konnte man sehr gut sehen wie das Leben wärend der Hugenottenkriege gewesen sein könnte.
Hat mich leider total in eine Leseflaute gebracht. Abgebrochen😔
An sich fand ich den Schreibstil der Autorin ganz gut, aber ich kam einfach nicht rein. Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich mir nur eine Zusammenfassung von ChatGPT geben lassen habe, da ich das erste Buch nicht gelesen habe, oder weil es ein historischer Roman ist. Die Figuren hatten mir eigentlich auch ganz gut gefallen, aber es hat mich einfach nicht abgeholt 🥺
