Now I do understand why I should read this before The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This book basicly explains the creation of Narnia and the wardrobe in a quite short and cute story.

I read this as the first one of the chronicles of Narnia but I must say I really thought it would be better. I mean it was a bit boring at times and I only really liked the last two chapters. Disappointing..

This review might contain not obvious spoilers without any names mentioned. The protagonist who appeared out of nowhere creates the whole world from Nothing in a couple of days, divides all the animals into pairs; the antagonist seduces someone to eat the forbidden apple... Felt like reading the first chapters of the old testament, to be honest

One of my all-time favourite comfort stories and (audio) books. It’s beautiful, enchanting and I am always in awe of C.S. Lewis’ ability to write authentically *about* children and the way they perceive the world and *for* children and for young at heart people of all ages who enjoy magic and fairytales and being told stories. ❤️

I never read any of the Narnia books before, so this is quite new to me. I watched the movie of course but I wanted to give the books a go, as they are such classics. I enjoyed this prequel and I think it gives a good overview about how Narnia was made. But it’s nothing special to be honest. It’s a setup book for the upcoming books and you can clearly feel that while reading it. Anyway, it’s a very quick and easy read and I enjoyed it.
