Two years after Ying leaves the Engineer’s Guild and the ghost of her father’s unjust death behind, life seems to regain a semblance of normalcy. Tbh the first one was a tiny bit better. Still verrrry good (this one)
So yeah the first one gor me was more enjoyable. Which doesnt mean this book was badly written. No definetly not. And the plot was very good and kept in line with the character base that was established in the first one. SPOILER ALERT: No huge spoiler, but i was unsatisfied with the ending in some ways. We had a lot of betrayal and backstabbing in this book, which made vor a really good story. Also we had a nice portion of plausible character growth. The ending also concludes a lot. And i feared it might leave the question unanswered that it obviously did. From a writers POV I get it. And i know there wont be another book because its a duology…. I just wish we would get a tiny sneak peek to the other POV in the end or more of a clue than some certain birds in the sky.

War es spannend? Ja. Hab ich es innerhalb von einem Tag gelesen? Ja. Hat es Spaß gemacht? Größtenteils Mochte ich den Plot? Mäh, nicht wirklich Mochte ich die FMC? Mehr als im ersten Band actually Mochte ich den MMC? Nein, aber im ersten Buch auch nicht SPOILER!!!!! Overall hatte der zweite Band einfach einen komplett anderen vibe als der erste. Plötzlich waren wir Piraten der Karibik style unterwegs. Der "große" Krieg war irgendwie im Hintergrund? Overall war in diesem Teil maybe mehr focus auf die Liebesdramen idk wie ich das finde. Ich mag den Typen einfach nicht und wollte nicht wirklich dass sie zusammenkommen. Nians Perspektive hat mich anfangs nicht angesprochen, wurde aber schnell einer der besseren Teile der Geschichte. Liked it Das Ende fand ich enttäuschend. Dieses offene nervt doch einfach. Vor allem bei einem Zweiteiler macht es einfach keinen Sinn. Entweder man ist committed und die FMC ist tot oder nicht. Und ich verstehe nicht wieso der MMC sie sucht? Bzw wie?? Er hat doch gar keine Ahnung wohin, irrt er einfach in der Welt herum in Hoffnung sie zu finden? Denkt er sie wurde gefangen genommen? Oder sind sie gemeinsam "entkommen" und lassen ihre Freunde einfach so zurück? Das Ende gibt mir den vibe einer wattpad Geschichte die die Autorin endlich zuende bringen will. Bei so einer Geschichte sehe ich einfach keinen Grund für so einen komischen Abschluss, außer es soll noch einen dritten Teil geben. Insgesamt aber ein spannender Roman mit viel Potential.
