Ich habe das Buch nicht selbst ausgesucht und es ist ein bisschen was anderes als mein Geschmack Aber es hat mir trotzdem gefallen und ist ein Muss für alle Surfer,Christen,.. Es ist eine wahre Geschichte die auch verfilmt wurde. Worum geht es? Bethany ,geborene berühmte Surferin wird in ihren Teenagerjahren von einem Hai angegriffen und verliert einen Arm Aufhören? Kommt für sie gar nicht in Frage sie hat Hoffnung und den festen Glaube an Gott ,dass er fest an ihrer Seite steht und ihr helfen wird. Ihre Eltern und ihre beiden Brüder und ihre Freundinnen darunter auch ihre beste Freundin Alana stehen auch immer fest zur Seite . Schafft sie es? Klaro ,sie ist fest entschlossen und könnte sich ein Leben ohne Surfen nicht vorstellen. Da sie auf einer Insel lebt hat sie noch nicht so viel gesehen aber durch ihre Erfolge und ihren Unfall wird sie noch berühmter.

Soul Surfer hat mich viel mehr berührt, als ich erwartet hätte. Beim Lesen musste ich immer wieder daran denken, wie viel Stärke ein Mensch haben kann, selbst nach so einem einschneidenden Erlebnis. Bethanys Geschichte ist nicht nur bewegend, sondern auch unglaublich inspirierend. Sie schreibt so ehrlich und nahbar, dass man ihre Angst, ihren Schmerz, aber vor allem auch ihren Mut richtig spüren kann. Es hat mich tief beeindruckt, wie sie nie aufgegeben hat und ihren Weg trotzdem weitergegangen ist. Dieses Buch gibt einem so viel Kraft und zeigt, was wirklich wichtig ist.
