After a little mishap in an alleyway with CCTV, my public image needs fixing. Oops?
It might have been a stunt to get the attention of Lane Pierce, San Jose’s new PR manager, but I didn’t realize what the consequences would be when I did it. I’ve got Lane’s sole focus now in all the wrong ways.
He has designated himself as my babysitter, and while it’s fun messing with him, being bound by curfews and rules has never worked for me.

Being appointed head of San Jose’s PR department was a dream come true … until I met Oskar Voyjik.
He may be San Jose royalty, but with the stunts Oskar’s been pulling, the team owner is down to his last thread of patience. Which puts me in the firing line. If I can’t turn Oskar’s entitled party boy image around, we’ll both be shown the door.
I have free rein to do whatever it takes, and it turns out whatever it takes is Oskar.
Only, the more entangled our lives become, the more I see the Oskar he’s buried deep down. The one who hurts, the one who’s sensitive and kind, the one … the one I think I’m falling for.
I can’t have him and my career, and if rumors of the professional lines I’ve crossed get out, it’s not only my dream job I can kiss goodbye; I’ll be disgraced from professional sports completely.

Aus dieser Reihe bisher definitiv mein Favorit, die Tiefgründigkeit und gleichzeitig die Chemie zwischen den beiden Protagonisten hat mich total abgeholt - bei gleichbleibendem grandiosen Humor, ich hab auf den ersten zehn Seiten schon mehr laut gelacht als bei den meisten Büchern anderer Autor:innen im gesamten Verlauf. Besonders toll fand ich hier wieder die Verknüpfung zu Charakteren anderer Bücher in diesem Universum, nicht nur das queer collective, auch die Daltons, Damon, Jasper, Beck, Jacobs & Foster waren wieder stark präsent, ich liebs!

I knew this set-up was not for me going in, so I'm not going to rate this. Ironic then that I liked the preferences in this one maybe the most and the couple dynamic might only be overshadowed by the couple from book one :D But damn, I wanted to read about the blade to the face, so here we are anyway. Guess I did grow to like these characters. Oh well. CN: One of the characters has been thrown out by his parents as a teen for being queer, being unhoused and lacking support among queer youth is discussed and also comes up alongside charity work for/at youth centres.
Shameless Puckboy was, as the title promises, completely shameless. Great story, strong chemistry, and peak "idiots in love" energy with absolutely no shame. I laughed a lot and genuinely enjoyed the book. Not a full 5 stars because some parts felt predictable and I wished for a bit more emotional depth. Still, it delivered exactly what I expect from these two. Entertaining, easy to read, and definitely worth it.
