Matthew Reilly steht für Action, aber bei „Das Tartarus-Orakel“ war mir das Tempo anfangs fast zu viel. Die erste Hälfte fühlte sich an wie ein Jump 'n' Run-Spiel: Falle, Flucht, nächste Falle – das war mir etwas zu mechanisch und atemlos erzählt. Auch die Charaktere wirkten zu Beginn sehr flach und lieblos. Zum Glück gewinnen sie im Laufe der Geschichte an Tiefe, weshalb ich das Buch dann doch nicht abgebrochen habe. Am Ende wurde es noch richtig spannend. Teil 2 kriegt von mir definitiv noch eine Chance.
