!!! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS !!! In 2010 I became quite obsessed with Pretty Little Liars. I lived in the States back then and heard about this new show coming out on TV, so I watched the first episode, was hooked already, found out that it was based on a series of books by Sara Shepard, went to my local book store, bought the first book and fell in love with it right away. I finished it in one sitting and went back to that same book store the same night to get book number two because I was so thrilled and hooked and excited I couldn't wait to continue with the series. The show pretty quickly became my favorite TV show ever and also my former best friend who lived in Long Island back then became so obsessed with it that we spent all day reading the books and talking and discussing on the phone who A could be. We had the most insane theories ever but we had the time of our lives. I bought the next book whenever a new one was published but for whatever reason I stopped at some point. I also stopped watching the show. Not because I didn't like it anymore, there were just so many other books I wanted to read and other shows that I wanted to watch so badly that I obviously forgot all about Pretty Little Liars. So I went back to watching the show last week and fell head over heels in love with it all over again. I ordered book number 13 immediately and finished it in only two days. And now that I finished it there's this one question that keeps popping up in my mind: why on earth have I waited so long to continue with the series? Since I'm only now on Season 5, Episode 6 I still have no idea who A is and I swear this book was just as exciting and thrilling as all the other books; I'd even go that far to say that it's one of my favorites so far. It was brilliant. Obviously there's a lot of hating going on. People think that there are too many books, that the plots are becoming annoying and the characters irritating but you know what? If you don't like it, just don't read it. It's not like anyone forces you to read it right? There have been so many twists and turns throughout the series, it's unbelievable. I was convinced that Noel had something to do with it; he seemed like the perfect A to me but after that freaking unexpected twist at the end I was shocked and left speechless. Okay well I have to admit, after the incident at the graveyard I wasn't so sure anymore that Noel was A, I mean it was just kinda weird and Noel seemed somewhat suprised and I even felt a little bit sorry for him that Aria wouldn't listen to what he had to say. That's one thing about our favorite pretty little liars I don't like much: whenever they think they know who A is, they are stubborn as hell and refuse to listen to what people might have to say. They just don't care and then BOOM they are wrong again because something else comes up - like it did this time in the end of the book. I still have absolutely no idea who A could be, it could basically be everyone. I remember that time while reading the first three books that I thought it was Aria. How stupid of me haha Now I think that maybe Sean could have something to do with it even though he didn't appear much in this book. Or maybe Mike? But that would be too obvious, wouldn't it? Also I don't think that he could do something like that to his sister AND his girlfriend. And he didn't have much to do with Ali in the first place right? Actually, when I think about it, I believe maybe it's someone who's been with us from the very beginning. Well it could be at least. As we all know, things are never as they seem in Rosewood. I still have so many questions that are still unanswered for example why did Tabitha behave so much like Ali in Jamaica? Who was she really? What's the truth behind Noel's and Ali's relationship? Is he still in love with her? Does he know that she's still alive? Is he in contact with her? Is he really in love with Aria or was all of that just show? Was it really Ali pretendig to be Kyla at the burn clinic? Is Noel dead or did he survive? Who killed Graham? And the most important question of all: WHO IS A? I am so excited to find out the truth about all the secrets and lies. I just ordered book number 14 because I don't want to wait that long again to find out what happens next. I need to know who A is and I'm sure that whatever happens, I will be blown away.
Alright, so after the events of book 11 and 12 in which we heard a lot about Emily’s baby and the cruise ship vacation the girls attended, we are now finally back in Rosewood and things are going straight down the hole. I really was enjoying the eleventh and twelfth book and therefore couldn’t wait for the month September to arrive so I can start book thirteen. But other than that the book is good, right after a few pages I noticed that we now have a agent called Fuji who contacts the girls to speak with them individually as well as in a group session about the Tabitha Clark thing from book nine. The girl that not only knew Alison but also the girl that acted and looked like here a lot so the girls thought that she is Alison wanting to hurt them once again. Although the girls were kind of able to tell the truth at the end of book twelve, they decided against it because A provided more information to the police about the murder and also the police found out the real reason why Tabitha died, so Aria was off the radar. Still, A did not let go of the girls and for book thirteen he or she had other plans for the girls, making them believe that everyone around them could be A – also their other friends or family members. As an example, Aria, Hanna, Noel and Mike went to Iceland and Aria met Olaf. They both stole a painting back in Iceland and somehow the painting landed in Aria’s closet while Olaf seems to be missing. A, for sure, had planted the painting inside Aria´s room, making her and her friends believe that Noel is A – because Noel was around a lot of times when they talked about A and other things. To keep this short, because I want to start book fourteen now, I really loved this book but I also missed a few things, because sometimes this book felt like a placeholder book like some oft the other books I have read in this series earlier this year, but the story behind Aria and Olaf, the cheating story behind Noel and Aria (because they both cheated on each other for once) and also Hanna being part of the story although she didn’t want to, made this book a semi like masterpiece – still three stars because I liked it and would recommend the whole series too.
